  1. Marine (Starcraft reference, in case anyone wonders)
  2. (Disclaimer: Not an education establishment.) We purchase second hand PCs off eBay. 3rd gen i5's, 8GB RAM, no hard drive. Then get a 128GB SSD for £30 and fit it (either using 2.5-3.5 adaptors, or if I haven't got any, I use Velcro). Honestly they're fantastic and cheap enough to keep several spares around.
  3. I'm dog-and-house sitting for a relative while they're out of the country for a couple of weeks. Last night both canines were asleep on me, one on each side. Made me feel all warm and happy (Then the little @}#~s woke me up at midnight, then 3 am, finally at 5:30 am...)

I played the Alpha weekend of that, thought it was great! However I'm used to Factorio which has 5 years of development behind it, so I'll be waiting to get Satisfactory for a while. Probably around the time it's no longer an Epic exclusive...
  5. I had something similar, where Adobe Reader DC would pause on loading for 5-10 seconds, but would also pause for 30 seconds whenever you click "File"->"Print" and it loaded the printers list. Windows 10 Pro x64, printers served from 2008 R2 print server with type 3 drivers, Adobe Reader DC version 2019.010.20098 I'd tried removing all printers apart from one, reinstalling that printer (not using the print server this time, only TCP/IP directly), reinstalling Adobe Reader DC, resetting preferences using the "hold CTRL-ALT-SHIFT on starting Adobe Reader" - couldn't get this to resolve. Eventually I deleted the preferences located in this file https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-8511 and it solved it for a few days, then it came back. I removed the user's profile from that machine and then removed the preferences again, this time it seems to have resolved it permanently. Or, at least, it's been 2 months with no complaints.
  6. EDIT: And how about now?
  7. Hi missie89, it's here http://www.edugeek.net/profile.php?do=editprofile at the bottom under "Minecraft Username:".

Division 2 Closed Beta kept disconnecting me and a friend last night but seemed OK. I had major framerate/stuttering/input lag issues initially, but checking on their forums gave MSI Afterburner as the culprit. Closed that and it worked fine. Which is annoying, because I use MSI Afterburner and Riveria Tuner to cap my refresh rate to 144Hz...
  9. Batteries Not Included last week. Excellent film, I really enjoyed it. When they walk they look like (and reminded me of!) a toy robot that I used to have which was basically two legs on a disc, and it could walk up glass using the suckers on it's legs. Splash last night. Such a good soundtrack on a decent sound system. The immersion when they went underwater was superb.
  10. So it's an Expert pack. This is going to get very frustrating... I really should read the descriptions!
  11. Downloading now (again, as I downloaded 1.52 first!). I enjoyed SevTech Ages, but got stuck when it demanded Astral Sorcery and I couldn't be bothered to learn about it... Looking forward to this one!
  12. (Apologies in advance for not having seen these before and reaching my mid-20's...) Predator (original) - great film. GET TO THA CHOPPAAAA! Some really memorable bits that I've seen before as clips, but it was so good to put them into perspective of the whole thing. It probably lacked the 'wow' factor that it had at the time, what with special effects having evolved so much, but it was still fantastic. Terminator 2 - another absolutely wonderful film. Some of the best car/motorbike/lorry/helicopter chases I've ever seen, with such a contrast between the two terminators.
  13. Was that Butler using a.... bow and arrow?!? I was so hyped until that point. Now I'm unsure, and this is (still) one of my favourite series!
  14. Disclaimer: I haven't read through all this thread. But I'm curious what difference where you saved the media to once downloaded makes to whether you used it to upgrade a computer to W10 already? (or did I miss something?)
  15. 150 total in Group Policy Objects. A lot of legacy and unused stuff there though. About 25-40 in use depending on the user and Computer OU. Normally each 'thing' will get it's own GPO - so Roaming Profiles is one, Office 2013 default settings another, Power Settings separate (one each for Win 10 and Win 7 and Servers), separate ones for each WSUS targeting group (but global settings applied at a higher level to all machines) etc. I've found that it can make finding each individual setting more difficult, especially on GPO's that were around before I started, but the actual troubleshooting during GPO creation is much easier. There doesn't seem to be much (or any, but I'm not tempting fate by saying it) duplication of each setting unless it's specifically overridden further down the OU tree. ETA: Not a school. A <100 user business with a lot of legacy technology, and things that were upgraded over the years.

  17. Yay! New people to pick on be welcomed!
  18. Lot of good ideas posted in a similar thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/196817-so-im-going-involved-new-school-project.html.
  19. Yes
  20. It uses a built-in email server apparently. Conversation already occuring on the 3CX community forum at https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/welcome-emails-not-sending-in-free-version-15-5.59198/.
  21. Our school bought a 2KW heat gun which made doing them simple, when combined with the iFixIt toolkit. Eventually we started getting them broken in sufficient quantities to warrant sending them off to someone local, who did a great job (initially at least - when we sent the head's iPad off in a group after it received a tumble, we had to chase him repeatedly). Simple enough to do. A lot of online videos and guides. My advice is to take your time, get the proper equipment, and start with a very badly cracked one. That way, if you crack the screen when removing one for the first time, it won't matter
  22. I haven't seen the film, but suspect that's a typo... If not, I'm impressed!
