Id try JCollings Idea sound like a good one! D
  2. Yeah, do you have an external line other than your LEA Broadband. If so you can just specify a default DMZ and point it towards one of your server's running IIS or equivalent, then just use windows based authentication to map the drive to the username. The difficult part comes when trying to identify who is connecting. I would go down the VLE route it makes life easier, but yes there is a way to do it without one. If you want more detailed info please ask. D

Yea as in the server should realise that the Profile folder no longer exists and should re-create a new one for the user. Otherwise you will be forced to rename the folder then create a new one and set perms on the folder manully. Delprof will only delete the local profiles from workstations, I think that Dafty means to clear the profile from off the server. A dear Roaming profiles for students is such a bad idea!! D
  4. I use Photoshop CS3 and the program that comes with that. I find it very good! D
  5. Hi, I doubt it as Im working on 100mbps streight through. Really Weird, Ill post some screen shots later. D
  6. Hi Tom, On Network Connection I now have an icon from PNP that says internet connection, it used to report 7.6mbps now its reporting 10mbps, could this be a bug? D
  7. Got it working just, im now going through smoothwall. Weird the UPNP is actually reporting that my net speed has gone up by 4mbps? Turns out it was due to me being on the same range. Changed the Green and my Ip and it works fine now. So guna sit back and have a few beers now with the telly! D
  8. I think ill just work on different ranges to make life easy, the router from sky is crap at best so I would immagine that it would be easier for me to just use 192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0 D
  9. Thanks Tom, I had heard this was the case but wasn't totaly sure. Im not home until Sunday now so ill let you know how it goes. P.S I notice you work for SW, just want to say thanks for an excellent project. D
  10. Hi, Yeah its set as transparent and DNS is pointing to 192.168.0.11 Not tried a ping from smoothwall shell Ill try that 2mz. D
  11. Hi, Im trying to implement a Smoothwall Box at home. I have Sky Broadband Wireless Router. I have a dual NIC box, one RED NIC and one GREEN NIC. The RED NIC is plugged into my Router and has a static address assigned 192.168.0.10, the router address is 192.168.0.1. The GREEN NIC is plugged into my switch and also has a static address assigned 192.168.0.11, both IP's are on the 255.255.255.0 Subnet. I can access the Smoothwall Box from the web browser. But if I try to access the internet through smoothwall I get errors. I have put the correct proxy settings into FireFox being 192.168.0.11:800 Just wondering if anybody has any ideas on what might be going wrong as it puzzles me!! D
  12. Ill give that a try! Thanks :-)

This means it wont fit in any of our laptops and then one that it will maybe fit in the sata connector on the laptop is half cm too low so wont plug in. Anybody ever come accross this before? D
