Another newbie NM question.....startup scripts..
danrhodes replied to Little-Miss's topic in Learning Network Manager
Hi, If you run setup.exe, and while the files are being extracted, enter %temp% into run, then just sort by date order and in there somewhere will be the extracted msi, just copy it to a different location. D -
Another newbie NM question.....startup scripts..
danrhodes replied to Little-Miss's topic in Learning Network Manager
Hi L-Miss, do you have an msi for the install? If so you can run the following script: psexec \\compname1 -d msiexec /package \\sername\share\file.msi /passive psexec \\compname1 -d msiexec /package \\sername\share\file.msi /passive psexec \\compname1 -d msiexec /package \\sername\share\file.msi /passive This will run the msi on the specified machine without displaying a GUI to the end user. Attatched is PSEXEC that will need to go in your System32 Folder. Let me know if you need any more help! D psexec.zip -
Try using the MS Replication Diganosis Tools, it can be downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=96a35011-fd83-419d-939b-9a772ea2df90&DisplayLang=en Let me know how it goes, please also check that your replication process hasn't crashed and just needs re-starting. D

Hi, Your best bet would be to look at ICT businesses around your area. Ring them up for an over the phone quote then lower your prices by a few pound below theirs. Thats what I did and it worked a treat, a bit of market reasearch is a must if you want to make a go of it! Also try posting some fliers and adverts in papers, but make sure you get the right area, you don't wana post adverts any fliers in students areas or "old people" areas as they will either know how to fix a computer or just won't have one. And remember, be polite and friendly, word of mouth is an excellent marketing / advertising tool. D

Most ridiculous thing you have given an IP address to?
danrhodes replied to HMCTech's topic in General Chat
Good one, It was one of these posh things that you program the design using a computer then send the file to the sewing machine. It was really sketchy though, I think the machines used to work via CF cards. They adapted the machines to work other Ethernet someway so it was all messed up and never worked properly, but when it did it did some amazing cross stitch aparently! D -

Hi, I once gave a sewing machine an IP address! D -
Hi, Your site looks good, your prices seem a little on the low side though, maybe thats just compared to the prices I used to charge in my area when I did this venture, it's an easy money maker and definatly the route to go down if you have the time. I went down this route a few years ago, did it on the side for about 6 months while working a full time job and it just didn't work out as it was a bit much to take on. Hope it works out for you. D;)

Hi, We use Sims.net both Wired and Wireless and it works just fine. The only trouble comes when you try to update, during this time it can run a little slow while the update packages are downloaded. D:troll:

Have you got anywhere with this yet I would love to know any more details? Have you tried sharing each user folder instead and settings perms on both the home folder and the share for that particualr user. D

YHGFL Email Slowdown
danrhodes replied to danrhodes's topic in Yorkshire & Humberside Grid for Learning (YHGfL)
Hi, Spoke to YHGFL today, they seem to think that the problem is due to a corrupt email being bounced around their servers, and this is why the email are going so slow. They also said that they get handle 7Million Emails per month - WOW! D
