Hey Guys, Im currently up to 5 Xmas Cards, what have you all got so far. The person with the most stuff wins nothing.....! D

Looks like a decent little piece of kit, but as previous posts say, if it was £50 it would be worth a purchase, just for the fun factor of having one, but £99 is out of the window this time of year. D

LOL yeah i'v seen that before, its seems very Random, one minute it works other its a 500 error. Its probably YHGFL! D

Good stuff as long as its fixed. Do you use YHGFL Foundation Internet, if so I we have Exchange running on HTTP and HTTPS on lots of schools and in the Ponte / Wakefield area. No reason why it should be blocked for you? Otherwise see the method below. An external Broadband line for our exchange, it works really well, all you need is an External line for your Broadband. For a basic look at how this works see below. 1. Internet 2. Broadband Connection on a local Box inside school 3. AnalogueX Port mapper installed onto the box to redirect either SSL(OWA) request to a certain location on our exchange server or HTTP(Windows Integrated Forms Based) to our exchange server. 4. Exchange running both OWA and Forms Base. Let me know if you need any more info if you decide to go down the External Line method.

Hey, Im very famiiar with Exchange but not in a cluster environment, not sure how it would react! Had a quick search on goole and it turned up How to Configure and Run Exchange Server 2003 Clusters in a Security-Hardened Environment See if that is nay good for you. What do your clustered servers do? D

What problems did you come accross with Ghost and SATA, what version of ghost do you use? Im using the latest v12 or something. I like the version on the Hiren CD as it can ghost back to USB Drives which can be very usefull at times. If you would like to try the Disk out the link is - Removed link to cd with illegal content D

Hey Tech, that might be the same issue I described above, you will never know. My first port of call now is to always disable and enable the NIC in the BIOS for any job like that. D
-
Hey, Try using Agilent Network Analyzer this can monitor lots of different protocols. Otherwise try unsing wire shark for something a bit more basic. D

LOL Silly Teacher! Im a big fan of Linux and to offend such a project is near Blasphemy! Sounds like she needs to do some basic research before she fires of such letters, obviously she has never heard of "Freeware". Tut Tut Tut!!! D

Hi, If the machines are Fujitsu Siemans, then they have problems with the BIOS. If you have a power Blackout / Brownout / Surge, for some reason the BIOS detects this and it shuts of the NIC card. Follow the steps below to solve the issue: 1. Start the PC up and access the BIOS 2. Set BIOS defaults 3. Disable the NIC 4. Restart PC 5. Access the bios once again 6. Enable the NIC 7. NIC will now work D

Hi, I also use ghost, as FragglePete says, once you get your head around the consoles it's a fantastic program to use. If you have good infrastructure it's also really quick. I am able to ghost a whole room in about 1 hour, from start to finish. Can't get much better than that. D

Try using Recover my Files by Get Data Back. But in my view, it may not be every body elses. If you have a "Home Documents" Folder on the C Drive of the staff laptops and staff know that they are to use that folder then I would argue that the issue was not caused by the Technician, thus they are not to blame, rather the member of staff who ignored ICT guidelines is to blame as they did not save the files in the location that the ICT Dept had specified. Id call it tough luck. But this doesn't stop you having a look, just for extra points :-) D

Hi, Would there be any problems with having an external Broadband Link and letting staff in through there? D
-
Our staff seem to have Read/Write access to S. This has always worked for us. D

This looks like an excellent tool. On the market at the moment their is a similar thnig that you can plus in and USB webcam and then plug it into your network and it makes it a network camera with the build in web server. Cool! D
-
Yep, this is a good mehod to use, its good to try and keep it as cold as possible also so try doing it in a nice closed off fully air conned server room, set it as cold as possible! D
