What type of fibre, and what ends are they terminated with??

Are you certain that it is not an issue with one of the switches or one of the gbic modules?? Couple of things you need to try here if your certain its the fibre. 1. Remove the connector, and with a lint free cloth gently clean the end of the fibre using a very small amount of ethanol (from your science techs, pure ethanol, not the stuff they mix with water to dilute it for kids to use) do this on all ends. 2. With a ear bud apply a small amount of ethanol and gently clean out the receiver end on the fibre panel to remove any unwated artifacts. 3. Call the people who installed the fibre to come and run some test on the continuity of the connection as it may have been damaged somehow. Unless your skilled in the dark art of fibre then don't mess too much with it, get a professional to sort it. D

Yeah I can agree with you there, it does save on costs as well and as long as you have a solid backup policy there should be no issues. But I still think RAID is the way to go as it provides redundancy even if only using RAID 1. D

My thoughts exactly Craig, I don't know if Wireless can PXE boot googling about seems to show that it can be done for VMWare images, and there has been chat about it on here before but wether anybody has ever managed to get it working smoothly is another thing. D

Never tired Ghost over wireless I don't imagine even with N it will be any good, or even if it would get an IP, you could run some trials and post your results. D

For our print server we run Server 2003, hosting about 100+ printers all HP. Our clients are Windows XP SP3. Printer in question was a HP P3015DN:D

Got a very weird issue reported just now anybody any ideas? PC Restarting when going to print Status: Details: When students select the ITC-1 printer in drop down list the PC restarts. Some students are effected by this. It does not seem to be any particular PCs. These students can sometimes print after restart however, some students have suffered this sympton multiple times during a lesson.

Hmmmm a bit suspicious I must say! We have our eyes on you!!
