Hi there, Just thinking out loud. When building the images for our new netbooks with integrated webcams, we enabled the webcams (installed the driver for it). Is there anyway we can remove these drivers en mass via a script or disable the "Webcam" icon in my computer? Cheers, Richard

Depends if you've got enough bandwidth at either end in order to faciltate this. TS should be the way to go, or if youve got SIMS learning gateway..?

Students dont need to access it, if you login using your admin account and run it it will refresh the policies regardless.

Im guessing your users have their files stored in, like the below: If so, try the below: %username% should replace every time someone logs in with the current user logging in. You dont need to change this. Also, if the users folders are already on the server, surely "Create a folder for each user under the root path" wouldn't suffice? Try "redirect to the following location". Or, try putting as the users home directory, and then set the GPO to redirect to the users home directory? Hope this makes sense!

Have you actually added it. It's all being well being in the %windir%\inf folder - but you actually need to right click on Administrative templates -> Click Add- > find the ADM in the INF folder, click "Open" -> then click Close. Hope this helps EDIT - didn't see it had been fixed!

I wouldn't show them much but one thing I want to start here as when we put in new systems (such as remote access ..... etc) to have a pupil user group. We all cater for "clients" as such - and the most important client of them all is the student.

The way I would do it (and when I was at college writing lots of ASP applications) is that I would set up an IIS server with FTP. Create a directory for each user from a text file (I have a script to do this with if you want it?) then give them access via FTP to that directory. Then, create the HTML pages, upload etc. You could also install MYSQL onto the same box and do the same kind of thing (never configed MYSQL and IIS together though ... shock horror!).

Hi all I had exactly the same issue. After banging my head against the wall, I seem to of done some regsitry hacking and it seems to of worked. A zip with my results is attatched. A little "read me" in there too! Hope this helps ScratchFix.zip

Agree with all the above, keep it on. Especially with Conficker about ..... our biggest mistake here was turning it off and we got infected with it!

I am the Assistant ICT Network Manager at 18 years old here. I was very lucky - started p/t - proved myself, and moved up when I was full time. Go for it, you've definetly got nothing to lose.

We use Exchange 2007 for both Staff and Students here. Used to use Exchange 2003 and Easymail before the summer, Exchange for staff -> students easymail. Got them running side by side with no one outside the organisation being none the wiser ... was a pita!
