Makes things a lot clearer ... I know what I want to do now. Guess I was panicking, more don't want someone to turn around and say "Oi, you need to do it that way!:. Thanks Vik! If you could dig that out I would be greatful...

So just to confirm as I had a response from a Capita Lady on Supportnet (once I posted it had been resolved...) that I can use one aspect and different result sets for each test? Cheers
-
Exactly what I was looking for Ian, thanks so much

Hi all, (posted this on to capita forums) A "newbie" question in regards to Assessments ... just trying to make sure I dont mess anything up! If we have several end of unit tests which require different marks .. e.g. Exploring England Cabbages and Kings Settling Down Would we have to set up an Aspect for each one of these and would marks be carried over? Please be nice! Rich

I know this is resureecting an old thread, but anyone know what the solution was to this?

Hi, I would quite like to give cover staff (and Supply Desk teachers) in September a printed "class list" photo when they are assigned to that class on cover. Is there any wya I can design a report that will print off all the class list photos for the particular cover supervisor for the classes he/she is scheduled to cover? cheers, Rich

Oh god I've done that before on 30 laptops and gone round with several copies of GPARTED Live!

I don't think you can ..............

Well we are all 2008 r2, bar one 2k3 r2 server for Successmaker, and the SIMS server (which runs the Groupcall stuff) only runs on 2k8 because CAPITA don't support R2 :-(. Calling Groupcall should do the trick, although I don't know whether they will speak to you if a call hasn't been raised with your LA support team. They are very helpful though
-
I had exactly the same issue as you. We are the first school in our LEA to run Server 2008 x 64 and it didn't matter at the LEA end (they hadn't upgraded their systems...) - Groupcall just installed/gave us the new version (they wanted to test it...) and it worked.
-
Hmmm yeah, just in IE. I know there is an issue with Sharepoint dumping it's cache overnight but I have not dealt with that before, LEA are sorting that for us as it is their Sharepoint server!
-
Ah yes, I discovered that - coupled with this powershell script ... Script to create connection list for Remote Desktop Connection Manager. Gathers a list from AD and creates a config file for it So I don't have to add all my servers!
-
Tried clearing your cache? That worked for some issues I had with our hosted sharepoint install at the LEA.
-
@bio - i'd be very interested in the script please too? cheers! Meanwhile, I use this..... http://www.wisesoft.co.uk/software/account_management_spreadsheet/default.aspx and it's very effective.

What I would do, to be safe - is create a maintenance plan in MSSQL and back up via the *.bak file it creates to an external NAS possibly. I back it up to the servers local drive then I have a script which runs at 03:00am every morning which moves it to our Theakus Nas. Creating Backup Jobs in SQL Server 2005 should do the trick.

I use this a lot to get the different commands I want: SS64.com Command line reference. does well for me!

Fun Free Friday for Schools: Invitation To Register Online From Microsoft

Would love to go to this; but it would have to be in the summer. Out several times before the end of term and have been out several times this year .... school wouldn't allow it -
Are you talking about a PST or are you on a Exchange server based system?
-
I would go for the Profiles web part (SLG...) ........ just ordered the patch from our LEA for it. Will post some example screen shots up when I get it!

Four weeks notice here.

Something you could use WebDav for? Just a thought ... -
Hi Vik - thanks for that. Yeah so I can test it I can set up a backup Database but if you could point me in the right docs for if I want to do it in a test environment (if I am reading it correctly..) I would be greatful. Cheers

Hi all, Okay ..... Our timetabler designs the timetable in Nova T6 BUT then the SIMS Operator imports it into T4 (don't ask me why ..........) - but this has caused a lot of problems. This has, along with a few more issues, really messed some things up and we are really lagging behind. Myself and the boss have forced them to use T6 fully this year. What I need to know is the following (and forgive me for this...) * When the new academic year is created and activated, is there anything we need to do or can we just "commit" the T6 timetable to SQL and all will be hunky-dory? Again forgive me for not being up with timetabling, I know bits of it but not done the academic year like this before and plan to run the new academic year, slightly earlier, on a test SIMS database (fully with T6) before we do this for real. And if anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated! Cheers
