Class Technology Solutions is looking for an ICT Technician to join a growing team of over 90 IT support staff who specialise exclusively in the education sector. The ICT Technician will be based at a client’s site Kent and in the surrounding areas. You will be based at one site for three days and two days at another so a form of transport is desirable. The ICT Technician: ·Will involve administration and troubleshooting within a Windows server 2008/12 school/college network environment. ·As the ICT Technician you will help the IT Support Manager to run the day to day helpdesk onsite and doing first and second line support while working with the customer, so hands on knowledge is also required. Your responsibilities include: ·Running the service desk and resolving 1st-2nd line support calls ·Supporting and maintaining the IS infrastructure to ensure maximum service ability ·Ensuring the IT Support Manager, senior engineer and CTS helpdesk are aware of any issues that need to be raised and escalated. ·Supporting and managing key infrastructure projects ·Keeping client informed of any IT related projects or issues ·Managing the day to day workload of the IT Support Technicians Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Some of our sites have reduced theirs down to 30 minutes for the sync to happen however my team's just force a password sync usually once they change a password.

I have done this before and having a second RODC on the other site; with a site with it's own routing engine (i.e. picks it's own DHCP up) really does save you in a failure. I have also even added a file server down there too and DFS'ed it so it is replicated at the main site and the secondary site.

Hi all, OK, this is really embarassing but I have hit one of those mental blocks? I have just taken delivery of some v1910s and thinking I knew how to setup switches.. I have tagged an uplink port (rj45) to a dell switch and they all work fine (trunk tagged 20,180 and untagged 1) and put devices into a right VLAN but I can't seem to be able to web manage it? However when I plug in another uplink port with just vlan id.1 and .1 on the other end, I can web manage it. Am I missing something really stupid in my configuration? Thank you in advance rh91uk
