I know you can do that, and about the plug-in, but it's not as nice an natural as having a dedicated tool for it.

What I don't understand is... 6 years and they still haven't put basic shapes in there?

In Swindon as of yesterday it's a minimum of 40% off now, and 70% seems to have been the maximum for a while (even though they still have an 'Up to 60% off' sign in the window too). Although their hours are to 7 or 8pm, understandably they are shutting at 6pm now.

Actually, I believe everyone has to be compliant by the 25th. Though no doubt a lot of places will be making progress towards compliance, especially due to the lateness of ratification and instruction.

Seeing as though they would have no idea the age of the person using an account set up in 365, it has to be aimed at personal Microsoft accounts.

We use scripts to boot up and shutdown machines. Much nicer having control for it all as a scheduled task and not hard to setup. Just need the MAC addresses for WOL. But, WOL might not be working as expected in the future versions of Windows 10... see here... This would mean that you could only wake the machine up, if it is in a hybrid sleep or sleep mode. Shutdown and full on hibernate mode would no longer be woken from.

As you see from others (I count at least 4) review or meetings with other school IT would be more professional, and in line with your practices with teachers and be an infinitely more cost effect measure, mutually beneficial. I would say that hearing your school budget is largely focused on IT is a VERY welcome change , most of use have to deal with aging equipment with no funding, and still people can't understand why things are slow or don't work. Then, out of the blue with no discussion receive iPads as 'they are wonderful in X school', and having to try and get them working on sub-standard infrastructure, where the money should have been spent.

I would certainly start by being on the level with your IT Support team, say what problems staff have found, see what their recommendations are to improve service. I have never not known a person looking after IT throw away a chance of improving their systems, I mean we are the ones that get it in the neck if things don't work, rightly or wrongly. The recommendations may cost you a bit, but take this advice from someone that has been in the Business side of IT... it would be better than contacting a 3rd party to come in, for one that would be a lot of money from the get go, the 3rd party won't know your systems like your team do, their primary purpose (no matter what they say or their mission statement says) is to make money, also if you go down this path without giving your Team a chance it will feel like you are treading on their toes or trying to replace them, which could cause more problems than you think it will solve.

I was asked to look into signin systems because of this (ref: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/194197-visitor-entry-system-link-sims-registers.html). There are paper based systems you can use like this one - Visitor Management System I took a few pictures of it when someone came to visit us, as you can see the carbon sheet is meant to cover up the details... though someone could grab and flip the carbon page over, so I would recommend reception keeping it out of reach and providing it only for people signing in at the time, then removing it.

I get that if I haven't run the Windows Admin Center shortcut first. It launches SmeDesktop.exe, which starts the background application, and (unfortunately in my case) loads the default browser with the URL. After that, the page should be able to load.

Even the person that sets it up in the school has to choose one if they don't have a SIMS ID and your system is hosted in the school... What concerns me is the phrasing used when trying to integrate with an account... for example with Outlook, could read that they have access to the account (SIMS ID Live... This app would like to: Sign in as you)... but I assume from the details when you expand the drop down that's not what they are saying?

Hmm, odd. The only issue on installation on Windows 10 and using the default port is that I have to run the shortcut for Windows Admin Center to start up, then ensure https://localhost:6516 is open up on Edge or Chrome, and not my default on that machine (which could be Firefox or Internet Explorer). Then if it's the first time loading, select the Windows Center certificate and it works.

^^This I create a read only read access folder in the workstation policy and use the student user policy to redirect to that local folder for the desktop. I find it is best to do it that way rather than a UNC path, just in case the UNC path can't be found and they get a temporary desktop that they are able to write to.

Got asked by a young student if we could unblock Roblox... I said that the idea of school was to learn... he replied that it is learning... how to play a game. Yeah, nice try.

So far any date is fine with me, will just need to know which one to request before everyone else leaves for the Summer.
