  1. I wish more had an open attitude like this!
  2. I have no problem with being audited or checked by another teacher, I should be judged by them to see how effective I am at my job, as an aside my school also uses student voice to get another view of how a teacher delivers lessons and I welcome that because they are my customers. As I said a confident professional should welcome being auditied by others in the same profession and if you don’t welcome it, I will question how effective you are at your job. As for your comment about the school manager questioning me about my teaching and results, I avoid that by being open to review by other teaching professionals.
  3. The NM is running an expensive resource and has the biggest budget in the school, yet has no auditing process to judge the quality of the service that is provided, a self assessment is not adequate, because a self assessment does not identify your own blind spots. I would think a confident NM would welcome outside auditing and view it as a development opportunity rather than a threat, and those who do view it as a threat, I would ask them why they think they are above professional accountability? Or would they rather be held accountable by a bunch of non techie teachers? An audit is something we are considering because we feel that the NM needs support to identify the strengths and the weaknesses of the network. I don't view it as a punitive tool, rather as a way of mapping how the things can be improved and to give us a basis of an improvement plan to ensure we get value for money in a time when budgets are shrinking.
  4. The NM has full control of the infrastructure, we aren’t a MAT and the LA has no influence over it
  5. Hi We have been having horrendous issues with our internet connection from RM, we only switched over 6 weeks ago and I am really beginning to regret it. Anyone else experiencing anything similar?
  6. Hi This is my first post, so please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. I'm a teacher at a high school and I have the responsibility of managing the IT Support team at the school, this includes the network manager and his support staff. We seem to have many issues in school that aren't resolved quickly and it seems it takes a lot of time to get to a solution for a problem. Whenever a problem occurs, the first instance is the network team blaming an outside agency (cashless service provider, ISP etc. Compared to my last school the IT infrastructure seems creaky and unreliable. I'm looking to resolve this and to this end would like a recommendation of an organisation who could do a network audit for the school, identifying what (if any) weaknesses the network has and how they can be resolved. Any support you can give would be appreciated. We are a school in Lancashire
