  1. Bump Tried all the above suggestions. Still not working!
  2. I'd recommend buying the Pro Controller, expensive but worth getting if you plan on spending hours playing Zelda in front of the T.V. !!
  3. Or a bundled game i.e. 1-2 switch which should have been included !
  4. For what could be seen as a 'soft launch' it's been better than I expected. By Christmas with a stronger software line-up it could be even better.
  5. Mine arrived on Friday, excellent bit of kit. Been playing Zelda on the Tv and loving the fact I can carry on playing the game when my Wife wants to watch her favourite programs. Zelda is a stunning game, one of the best open world games I've ever played. Snipperclip is an excellent two player experience had a laugh playing this with my kids. Fast RMX is also worth buying reminds me of F-Zero, this will do until Mario Kart is released. Also being able to play Zelda while waiting at the laundrette was a bonus!! Overall its worth getting especially if you are an old gamer like me who bought the SNES all those years ago!!!
  6. Pretty durable ! Not sure I would do this with any new tech I bought mind you!!
  7. It's students in Isolation. It should be a classroom management issue, but as there are different teachers on duty they simply don't bother watching our Lan School. The students are restricted to what they can and cant look at on the computers. But obviously they need google for course work. As there are only four computers in there it's easy for us to monitor. It's just a pain having to keep an eye on the little darlings!!
  8. Still doesn't work ! Strange as we can easily block google doodles but it just won't block this particular one.
  9. Just a Bump for this, has anyone managed to block it. Tried the above, still have students playing Pac-Man doodle.
  10. NM and Tech, Secondary School with 950 pupils 80 staff and a Six Form. 700 computers and 40 laptops. Used to be one NM and Three techs , I joined after the other three left. We are part of an academy and can call on outside help if need be.
  11. Yes I did have a feeling that this could be the case. Our HR person left and then someone else created the SIMS entry, then they left!
  12. We have Show My Homework in our Academy and we synch teachers and students to this using MIS from SIMS. Recently a member of staff has started and they show up in SMHW but have no MIS ID. Looking through SIMS we noticed that they only show up in browse when we select All. If you select Staff,All current they do not appear in SIMS. Could it be that the member of staff has been incorrectly added to SIMS. And how do we rectify the problem?
  13. As we are due an OFSTED soon we have Lan School 8 set up with the Report server. This monitors all activity plus we can monitor the students with our Palo Alto. Trouble is for us that in a few months we will have to set up another report server as we are moving to Impereo, we are part of an academy and have to comply with the other schools within it.
  14. As it's been pointed out elsewhere , if you don't like Zelda then the initial releases are very sparse. By the Summer you will have MK8 and Splatoon2 with hopefully a clearer picture of what is coming by the end of the year. Although I'm buying one I do think that Nintendo should have delayed the launch to the end of the year, but with the Scorpio coming out then they obviously wanted to get the idea and concept of the machine to the buying public. I personally think it will never reach the sale's of the Wii or the two main consoles, but it's a machine that will appeal to a lot of people especially as I'd imagine Nintendo will slowly move all their 3DS handheld plans to this machine. Ultimately replacing all their handheld machines with varying versions of this console.
  15. True, we won't really know what the interface and online service is before the release date. I do suspect that they will talk about it over the coming weeks. Luckily I never bought the Wii U so MK8 will be all new to me. It really matter what sort of third party support and how the Christmas sales go. From reading interviews from people from Nintendo , they keep mentioning the Gamecube. It could be that these games will be heavily featured in the Virtual Console.
  16. I agree the Online service hasn't been explained very well. I'd imagine Nintendo are holding back announcements of this and AAA games to coincide with E3.
  17. After living with the Apple watch for a few months I've decided to sell it. It's a fantastic piece of kit but I really don't think I'm using it to it's full potential. I wouldn't say to anyone don't buy it as it may be what that person is looking for. It's just not for me.
  18. Pre-ordered with Zelda I haven't bought a Nintendo machine since the 3DS, but this one ticks all the boxes for me. I have a PS4 and that will cover the big generic games like FIFA, Call of Duty e.t.c. This machine is one for my kids and family. The fact that its portable is a bonus. Nintendo have never been about the best hardware, it's always been about their AAA titles. Playing some of the older games from the SNES and N64 on retropie last night brought this point home. They just produce amazing games. I'm sure by Christmas this year there will be a Zelda/Mario bundle and some excellent titles available and the price may drop by then.£250 with 1-2-switch bundled would have been a better price , but early buyers pay premium.
  19. True, I can see the machine going the same way as the Wii u, pity as it looks a very interesting concept but judging by the online game community a lot of potential buyers have came to the same conclusion.
  20. It's a pity about the online service, it looks like you only get a 'free' game to play for a month. But as I already have a raspberry pi set up with Retropie I can already play the old NES,SNES games and N64.
  21. Too pricey at the moment, when they are selling ps4's with two games for £199 at xmas then it looks overpriced. Having said that I will probably buy one as I'm a Nintendo fan !
  22. We had students using icloud and google drive to download movies and music , both blocked through our firewall now.
  23. On our Palo Alto we had a proxy list of words we wanted filtered on Google,Bing e.t.c. We set up custom url filter but when we were changing some settings on the firewall it has stopped working. Has anyone managed to set this up ?
  24. Scratch a total pain in the neck! As ICT use it in lessons students have the excuse that they are doing their homework in other classes. Teachers believe them and they play games usually Fifa17 FUT! Also Coolmathgames is being used by teachers all the time as a reward....
  25. It's turned out to be a SIMS problem as you've pointed out , a new member of staff not correctly adding data. All sorted now
