works a charm - I had 6 lines in a csv file, first column my school postcode in the format aa9 9aa, 2nd random made up ones in same format. Set the delimiter as comma and away t went. Came back instantly with distances, except for the couple which weren't real postcodes.

Just a member server? I can't think of anything unusual of the top of my head - other than I only use Win7 atm so it is a bit alien as it is Win8.1 based. Asides from that - have fun. And if it's not being commissioned yet - remember you can always go back to scratch and re-install - the reason I love new systems is that you can play with them :-)

I would start by checking out the switch in the middle, and if possible ditching the wireless where possible in favour of a wired connection. Also, depends what's slow. by the sounds of it, uploading large amounts to websites probably will be, given the specs of the external connection. If internal transfers are slow, and the switch is definitely a switch running at least 10/100, and between two wired connections, then I would be looking at the main computer being used for storage et al - checking the consumed resources and also the speed of the drive can make a big difference

Tried the top faq here? Focus Educational : FAQs We have in the past had to put some patches on for Focus software, not sure if the mechanics program was one of them or not, and not at my usual desk atm to find out. Might be worth a call to Focus though.

We have had this start appearing randomly on some recently images client machines - as yet haven't had a change to investigate however.

That's not a fix How much data is likely to have changed today (given most people can't login) - I would be looking to restore the database from last nights backup as a quick fix. Or if I could get away wit it the relevant table but bit risky and would take ages of digging to find it.

I believe it doesn't copy over. If you wished to be able to edit the settings of the GPO elsewhere, you will need to copy the adm templates. We have moved away from this method of working and have a central store for PolicyDefintions. This lives in the sysvol and is therefore replicated across the DCs and hence when editing GPO settings, all servers are using the same files. I think this only works on Server 2008+. Do a web search for it if you're interested - it didn't take us long to implement.

Duff switch somewhere? Is DHCP running properly? Is there a rogue DHCP server somewhere - we had a wireless base station a couple of years ago which defaulted itself back to factory settings and started dishing out IP addresses!

Where is your startup script located? I take it your policy is pointing to the right location for it?

Have you got the ports that link the switches together tagged in the same config as other switches - on both the problem switch and the one it's plugged into?

And the server in question is definitely in the corporate servers group and not mistakenly in the check trend or desktops groups which are either side of that ou? Failing that, I'm out of suggestions!

Can you post a screen shot of which policies are applied to the corporate servers OU, or alternatively, post a screen shot of which OUs the install policy is applied to?

I use 123-reg for all of the sites I manage, cheap enough, has lots of features and if you have problems, the support is great.

Imported IE11 into WSUS, deployed site-wide over Easter. IE9 before that.

We use remote access for our staff to access the full-blown SIMS, and they have access to SLG too, depending on what they want to do. We also have a laptop which is held securely off site (in a separate school, under a desk, in a locked case, bolted to the desk, plus the obvious password protection to boot and to log-in) which has a copy of our SIMS software and data (updated twice termly) as part of a (albeit limited) business continuity plan - i.e. if a plane crashes into our site then we don't lose everything and our MIS can be back up and running for a couple of key users in a short time frame...

Nope, I have just had a look and can see 13/14 and 14/15 data too Although I should note - some items are password protected. One of these is a SEN document so I guess it's more detailed on how they arrived at the SEN funding arrangement.

We have the same in Norfolk - I don't really think there's a problem though - the public being able to see how public money is divided up?

Check your appdata paths - we had a strange problem which affected staff not students and found we had a difference in how the groups were configured for redirection. Changed so they were the same and al was fine - sadly can't remember off the top of my head what value we set though...

I also have one infant school (30 ish computers) which has roughly the same spec as above but with 4 2TB SATA drives instead of SAS, brings the cost down remarkable to around 2000 I think
