  1. Might sound a basic question,. but is the groupcall service running?
  2. All our schools each have 1 server, 1 instance with multiple databases for SIMS, SOLUS, Discover Setting the compatibility level in SQL 2016 to SQL 2012 is an old recommendation (which we have done at the schools running SQL 2016) - surprised it's not been mentioned sooner. Don't think we've had too many issues, but then most schools moved from the hosted version to on-prem so it's quicker and more reliable anyways.
  3. We were - and then they started working again
  4. There is one part i really take issue with. "It is important to note that the Netsweeper platform is currently stable and has been for many months" 24th Feb to 11th May is not many months, its 2 months and about 2 weeks..
  5. We activates the FDM Vouchers bit in Wonde for one school on Friday which then had an advisory it would take 24-48 hours to go live. System went live over the weekend and second school activated yesterday was instant. It's quite simple and quick to use. After activation it tells you how many people are FSM and the you can buy as many vouchers as you want, for how many days and then place the order. You can pay the voucher cost by PayPal, card or BACS. After payment has been received by Wonde you can say which students the vouchers are for and see which parenty person they will be sent to, and change that too. After you have assigned the vouchers and Parents have selected the supermarket of choice Wonde then buy the vouchers and send them out in the evening.
  6. On the first Inventry system we had, we install SIMS on to it (no mapped S drive, not needed). No problems with it since. On the second, the SIMS Connect API was installed. This server now gives us problems every time there is a SIMS upgrade to do and we have to shutdown the API service before installing any updates. The others we have insisted that SIMS is installed on the units and haven't had any issues with them.
  7. In addition to my previous comment, I have had screenshots that show inlineproxy10 and inlineproxy11 as being affected. Plus it weren't just a few minutes either.
  8. Based on what Dave Tindell has said, it would appear the Cisco load balancer does't work, at least it hasn't for us. A string of calls this afternoon and another lot of lessons interrupted.
  9. I didn't. I also don't get the status updates and rely on someone else sending them, despite requesting a couple of times to be added to the list.
  10. User will need write access to the connect.ini file. We set our staff group to have this access.
  11. I guess there is a reason the category was called 'DO NOT USE'. I guess someone didn't get the hint...
  12. How do you get on with exam results then - isn't the summer upgrade required for that?
  13. We raised this Friday as BBC iplayer content wont run with a banner stating we are outside the uk. Whaysmyip and geolocation on it recognises as UK based, as well as Google, Bing and Yahoo all saying we are in the UK. Chased it up today and the response was that SBB NOC has been in touch with BBC NOC to try to resolve the issue as it appears to be a BBC issue.
  14. We have done two of our schools now. No issues reported yet. Personally I don't like the change of SIMS icon or some of the icons within the program - looks more retro now.
  15. And it would appear it's all gone tits up again. I was in WebAdmin keeping an eye of something, got timed out - wen't to log in to be greeted with 'You're account doesn't exist', CLosed the page, and started again to be greeted with: "There is a translation problem which does not allow the Reporter to display proper category names in multiple languages. If you have a custom package installed for branding, you must install the latest version of this package. " click continue and then it times out. I only have one day a week at this school, and it's bloody impossible to get stuff done.
  16. What happens if you run the w32tm /resync on an affected computer? Does it sort it out?
  17. We found this in a couple of our schools, randomly some machines had the time service disabled. In some we also couldn't re-enable the service (this was on 1809) and had to re-register the service. I've created a batch file and put it into a GPO start up script. Haven't had any more complaints at those schools.
  18. Support: It's rubbish and everything takes ages to resolve as it bounces around departments at Capita. Logging in: takes ages to get into SIMS id, then ages for the remote connection to establish. Using it: is slow. Laggy. Times out. Costs: you pay for SIMS as usual and then have a fortune on top for hosting (a fortune being a LOT of money per user) Er, good list for starters
  19. As our schools have joined our trust, we have moved them from hosted to local SIMS. Hosted SIMS is terrible. Installing SIMS server is easy and documentation is availbe on MyAccount for migrations etc.
  20. Does SIMS SQL 2016 instance still need to be run in sql 2012 compatibilty mode, and is it?
  21. Or have they a leaving date as they left already?
  22. We have this too. We raised it at the start of Feb and received the below response: I am contacting you in relation to the case that was raised regarding attendance not copying over to Parent app. There is currently an on going sync issue that is effecting attendance and the way it pulls through from SIMS to Parent app. The development team currently have a fix in progress for this which should be rolled out mid to the end of February. Sounds like the fix hasn't been pushed out then or doesn't work.
  23. Have you tried looking in the pip room? Gotta be careful though, don't let them all out!
  24. Did you set the meal definitions start date far enough in the past? And is that meal definition ticked for tge year groups?
  25. Have you tried the default username and password?
