Bit hard to say, there's no hint of number of users, amount of storage etc. Have you got an upgrade planned to move away from Server 2003 onto a new server with a decent amount of space - might just save this issue all round.

Well, I can think of a couple of options. in AD, if you go to the View menu, select Add/Remove Columns, you add 'Modified' as a field. Having just tried this I can see computers which are likely to have been used recently, and some which I got rid of ages ago and neglected to do anything with. Not sure what it classes modified as but certainly items which haven't been on for a while have an older date. Second option is to look in DNS. Sort it by date, those with dates further in the future have been used more recently. Shaun

Which server was it trying to rpc to? the screen dump cuts off just before that line - I can see it's from the 2012 box from the screenshot. Is the server it's trying to get to the other problem server you had, and has that server had a reboot since fixing it (yes, that was a have you tried turning it off and on again!)

So you have two that won't replicate based on that (the same way I determined our issue as well, copy something in and see where it doesn't pop up). I would try the above steps on one of the problem servers and see if it works, then run it on the second. After all, if it isn't working anyway....

From the server log you posted earlier, it looks like the server 2012 box. What do your other servers logs say? I would use them to determine which servers are having problems, rather than the clients - I *think* the user logon may be one thing, but the policies could come from somewhere else (or not as the case may be). We've had this before. Ran the below on the problem server, restarted and let it do its business. Checked in event logs a little later and all was tip-top. Run Regedit Click on Start, Run and type regedit. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters Double click on the value name “Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore” and update the value to 1. If the value name is not present you may add it with the New->DWORD Value function under the Edit Menu item. Type the value name exactly as shown above and set the parameter to 1

Hi Glenn, Have you removed any DC/DNS Servers. Had a similar issue yesterday and tracked it down to stuff not replicating properly (found by running a repadmin /showrepl in a command prompt on the server). After tidying up the DNS to remove remnants of a couple of decommissioned servers, all seems better. Shaun

This rings a bell somewhere - had the same on one of my sites, but can't think what I did to resolve it. Have you checked the machine where VAMT is installed has proxy settings configured correctly? That's all I can think we have problems with initially.

Looks like the problem in assessement manager and not being able to tick/untick is fixed in the Autumn 2 update, according to a known-issues list

I have just spoken to two parents having problems, and both are using Safari on Mac. Both have used Chrome and it works a charm. I noticed in the Autumn release notes for SLG that Safari 6 and 7 are supported, 8 isn't mentioned. Same goes for IE11 too - looks like SLG is way out of date with what it works with.

Did you get anywhere with this? We have a string of parents who cant get the homework to appear, and I have discovered at least a couple of them are using safari on mac.

Seems to be - it was only late last Friday it got applied, but had no calls yet reporting problems.

We use the V1910s and there is a recent firmware available, released end of October this year - I've put it on a few switches as a test to ensure it runs ok before rolling out site-wide. Do all of your switches have static IP addresses? And do you have VLAN's set-up and running ok?

If it can't ping 10.150.6.125, it won't say reply from 10.150.6.125: Destination host unreachable as it can't find it to get a reply from it. The address may be your ip, a router, switch etc which is feedback that it can't be found.

Given past experience, you probably find the audio content doesn't actually exist yet. Allthough, in fairness to the web filtering issue - has anyone tried the audio content outside of school?

The management system for this is a complete farce. We have 3 departments using it, upload the csv's, all the classes created but only the last lot imported actually have anyone in as they were taken out of the first two. You can manually assign people to more than one group, so why not in bulk. Queried with Kerboodle and was met with a yes we know, and no, we're not going to do anything about it any time soon. The management platform is basically suited to a single course, not several. The help pages are pretty rubbish. Every time a new course is added by another department, all teachers get access to it rather than just the ones the administrator specifies, you cant specify username/password. All in all a top quality system. Oh, and the other thing I had forgotten - MFL were struggling to access some of the content which they had paid for. They contacted kerboodle who blamed it on our filtering and supplied a list of exceptions to make (thanks, that's actually helpful). Some of the items were specific addresses, later followed by a wildcard entry for the same thing and also twitter supposedly had to be allowed to (which I advised to kerboodle fairly stongly would not happened and they needed to make their platform safe for use in schools). After numerous back and forths, it wasn't our filtering, the content just simply didn't exist yet. Maths had the same problem last year. The products are being sold, even though they might have no content yet! Great....

I would go look at what is on the other end of the cable you unplugged - make sure someone hasn't put a patch cable between two network points or done something else to it as a short term fix. Then look at upgrading the infrastructure as a more longer term aim
