Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)

Whilst having total and utmost respect for previous posters, I am afraid I put myself firmly in the ‘good for him’ camp. Being professional can only get you so far, and cheeks can only be turned so many times. Yes, we should try to stay professional, but there are times when something has to be said, and a head has to stand up for their staff. One can only imagine what has been said by that particular group of parents which has driven the head to take this step, but his staff will know that someone has their backs - and that matters. -
SNOW - free to a good home (collection only). Shovelled 5 inches of the b****y stuff off the drive this morning so that I could take my lad back to his mother - it’s covered with the damn stuff again! Temperatures of -8 forecast for tonight - bus to work tomorrow, methinks... Edit to add: walked up the road to Sainsbury’s this afternoon, some idiot up the road flinging shovel-fulls of snow off his drive into the middle of the road - moron! (Can you tell I don’t like snow?)
-
The met office forecast here has been changing by the minute - first light snow, then heavy snow, then nothing at all - currently back to light snow for tomorrow afternoon, but goodness knows how many times it will change between now and then!

I’m sure I remember you saying at one stage that Mrs Mikeprice sometimes reads edugeek? If so, you’re dead meat anyway, so I can’t see it making much difference.... Been there, done that... -
Same here. And having done playground duty three times today, I can vouch that it is definitely the wet kind...

Ashamed to say that I spent far too long looking at that before I realised what was wrong... -
Thank you - absolutely fascinating. Son now wants to sell OO and build a railway in the garden. All we need now is the garden...
-
Wow! Very nice - thank you. Puts my son’s OO oval to shame. Bet the track takes some maintaining, being permanently outside. How are the loco’s powered?
-
Very nice! More train pics when the snow has gone...?

Met Office is my go to weather app, but they really seem to have lost the plot recently - they got the one last week completely wrong ( the forecast was stubbornly clear, even when it had been actually coming down for hours) and they went the other way today - forecast loads for both home and work all through they day, when all we got was a light dusting at around 4am and a bit of sleet this morning. Accuweather and the BBC both much more accurate recently, which makes a change.

I think people might be a bit pleased ... it’s like the lead up to the Somme out there at the moment!
-
I’ll say it now in case I’m a) too drunk b) too depressed c) asleep or d) any combination/ permutation of the above. Happy new year in about 5.5 hours time, everyone!

Good news to end the mother and father of all crappy years!

Call yourself a techie? You’re supposed to have screws left over! But (and this is the important bit) it just still works...
-
Still got my OM10 sitting in a cupboard somewhere - hasn’t been used for probably 30 years!

Please, miss - that wasn’t me...

Must you keep putting ideas into her head?!
