I'm Looking at updating how we deploy our printers. We currently use a group policy to push the printers during user logon as a user preference It's okay. It gets the Job done but does slow down the login a little, as the computers have to install the drivers every logon. I'd like the printers to deploy during startup as a computer preference However this way doesn't seem to install the drivers along with the printers. Is there a way around this? Or do I have to find a way to deploy the drivers separately?

yeah, rund bristol it works like a charm, pokemon up the wazzoo locally and at work, nothing, nada. Rural village and rural school leads to whole days with no pokemons i guess

i dont know if they changed something, but there are now no pokemon spawning where I live or work, haven't been since the update with the new sightings system

It dependson so many factors. A newer PC With an SSD will install the basic image in as little as 30 mins, add a few more hours for all the software. Doing a whole classroom with HDD's and it'll take closer to a day. We Have 3 Images deploying, a standard, Solidworks, and a Maya + Visual Studio Image Deploying. Standard is 30 mins, Solidworks about 40 and Maya about an hour. Again plus 2 hours or so for software. That's using SpecOps Deploy Rather than SCCM or MDT However an old PC at the wrong end of a slow switch can take over 2 days to fully install everything

Nope, totally dead. No bios no beeping. Tried changing ram for working ran from another box Removing ram did get the 5 beeps for missing ram, but nothing else would change anything Even tried swapping boards into different cases Only working fix is a new board.

kinda, no post. won't even reach the bios. Only fix is new MB. Which HP apparently don't have enough spares of, so we've been waiting what must be now nearly 2 months to have them fixed. Suffice to say we aren't going to buy HP desktops again anytime soon. Either we'll find the money for the dells or go for zoostorm if we can't.

It may be... we had 20 out of 50 not working. Also disable fast boot and secure boot, both were enabled on ours by default

I doubt if the companies would want to release the source code, and even if they did would anyone be around have the expertise to update it. and what standard api's do they use, can it be done with standard api's. and did these standards exist back when it was designed I guess more web based apps would reduce the problem in the long term

buried right at the bottom: stuck because of legacy software. I wonder if this will happen again with windows 7 or if there's less bespoke software around

have you managed to do that with all the xamarin options installed? our head of ICT&Business wants Visual Studio Plus Xamarin and its bouncing off being a 40gb install. Where we've needed solidworks and maya in the past we've baked the install into a OS deployment, but I don't fancy deploying a 60gb image. Not sure of a more reliable/workable option at the moment though. we use specops to deploy our software.

for vids like that, maybee a low grade nvidea gtx, i think the 750 is supported? (adobe have a list on their website) But I've seen more done on less without crashing. i saw macbook pro 15 with the i7 and 750 rock adobe and i saw hour long edits running on them just fine. check thier media files for corrupted media or wierd file types. 9/10 that was the source of unrelieable premier when i saw it tested.

has anyone ever tried the personal trainer route? I've been out of action for 6 months due to an op going wrong back in febuary. was immobile for a month, severly restricted for another month and am still a week away from being able to do more than a brisk walk. suffice to say, i'm a leeeetle out of shape (well, round is a shape i guess)

What are they trying to do? Adobes great in the, you can throw as powerful a PC at you want to at it if you need to. I've seen 12 core mac pros with 94gb of ram and Quaddro k5000 thrown at it, and it maxed them all out when pushed hard And I've seen it run on early windows 8 tablets on i3's without issue. If the PC's not powerful enough I expect you'd see lots of loading screens and rendering rather than crashing

I've got a hammock in the garden. was damn tempted to sleep in it last night. the worst thing is my wifes loving it. shes just about at a comfortable temperature and i swear to god i saw her glancing at the thermostat at one point >.< I start to melt at 20. Got to shift about 100 PC's today. Its gonna suck

We use mint class, but luckily it comes out of slt budget and not ours. Pretty costly given I recon less than 1 in 5 staff use it

well we have a far healthier, if still far from perfect network map now. no dice on the 1820's. they show up but aren't able to run it, but lldp and cdp worked on all the procurves need to fill in the gaps the netgears leave now

some 1820's that went in this year in place of some failing netgears. they are all at the far ends of the network. any heavy lifting is done on 2500 and 2900 series I think. mr ben probably knows more than i do at the moment ^^ it's a fun learning curve that i've put off for far too long

We've got some pretty budget hp switches in to replace some old netgears. I'll try both methods and let you both know the results ^^

We're trying to update our inventory of switches and thier IP's. I was wondering if theres a way to do this from our core switch. Literately scan port by port for whats at the other end. I'm hoping for something along the lines of, on port b1 is device X on IP X (but just the IP would be enough) Is that dooable? an sh arp command?

autocad is free but just as clunky. i don't think sketchup comes close to being as powerful. in fact isn't it almost a different type of tool? Sketchups more a, make a pretty 3d image whereas autocad and solidworks are proper cad/cam modeling softwares. We run both sketchup and solidworks. IT teach sketchup as a 3d modeling tool and tech use solidworks as a cad/cam tool, form y7 upwards
