Why do Cashless Catering companies charge so much?
just_david replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in Hardware
How did you convince them? This is something we'd definitely like to look into as their tills are too expensive for us but weren't even aware having our own was an option -
We work quiet closely with our data manager and I can see some synergy. She manages insight users etc, but we manage the sync. Heck a lot of our information comes from our MIS (sims + salamander), and if that info is wrong it causes a lot of problems. As long as the role of data manager and network manager etc don't merge I'm not sure I'd see it as an issue. If it did I'd say it would as it is 2 different skill sets.

Tells me everything is fully up to date and I have the latest versions Other flash content seems to work but I'll test some more flash software later Got it working by reverting to an old version of Chrome. Imperos going to have to stay broken for now
-
Has anyone else had any issues with Chrome and Go Science? The latest version of flash and chrome seems to break go science. However I need to update chrome to get impero working. Go Science just opens up as a blank non-interactive screen with no content.

I think it's the security involved and the maintenance of said units. Everytime one of ours dies its almost instant next day replacement (except in september >.<) They are also made to absorb far more punishment than a regular touchscreen. I doubt a normal touch screen PC would last a year down with our catering staff. We looked into it and decided the prices weren't actually too bad. And that we'd rather they be supported by someone else. When they go wrong you do not want to be the one responsible. -
We Have 60 HP Compaq's looking for their new forever home. All have at least 4GB of ram and 100+ GB HDD's. OS is not included. Looking for £10 each collected. Collection From Chew Valley School Nr Bristol. Payment in small unmarked non sequential bills. Or BACS.

I'll second this. They had a real rough year, but the latest version seems to be back on form, and the support are improving. Long may it continue

I love it

Isn't this the whole halo car thing? most people can't afford a type-r, but might get a regular civic after seeing it. -

Hi Folks, We have a problem where some computers have the wrong keyboard settings on the login screen. Is there a way to force this? I've tried some registry both as a computer and workstation setting:

Hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER (HKU\.DEFAULT)

Key path Keyboard Layout\Preload

Value name 1

Value type REG_SZ

Value data 00000809

as well as this .adm template: CLASS USER CATEGORY "Custom Settings" CATEGORY "Keyboard Layout" POLICY "Set UK Keyboard Layout" KEYNAME "Keyboard Layout\Preload" VALUENAME 1 VALUEON 00000809 VALUEOFF "" END POLICY ;Set UK Keyboard Layout END CATEGORY ;Keyboard Layout END CATEGORY ;Custom Settings Is there any other way to push the correct setting I'm missing?
-
we had this problem and it fixed itself with some windows updates, but i don't know which ones

that no new headphone jack is a real dealbreaker for me. Its not just my headphones, but car stereo, home stereo, other home stereo, mates stereo etc etc 'tis a lot of kit that'd have to be replaced, and or what, a second speaker i'll never use >.< I know I can use the lightning adapter, but i charge and listen at the same time. Plus I've never been convinced by bluetooth sound quality. Every device I've used seems to lose a lot of bass

I'm following the settings in these links, but I have a wierd error. When i go into the control panel > ease of access settings > keyboard settings it throws an error Is that because this setting is applying correctly and thus preventing the user from changing it, or does it mean somethings wrong in the adm file: CLASS USER CATEGORY "Custom Settings" CATEGORY "Keyboard Layout" POLICY "Set UK Keyboard Layout" KEYNAME "Keyboard Layout\Preload" VALUENAME 1 VALUEON 00000809 VALUEOFF "" END POLICY ;Set UK Keyboard Layout END CATEGORY ;Keyboard Layout END CATEGORY ;Custom Settings

it was the computer config > policies > admin templates> package point and print settings. for some reason those settings weren't in our printing settings gp, but a default settings gpo. so when i created them in our printer settings gp it conflicted and broke.
-
cover me, i'm going out for.... cables, yeah we need some... computer, cables

we did have optiplexes but it effected non optiplexes as well actually, we do have that error, but we've been using it as a feature as it stops the kids watching youtube during lessons. all the staff pc's have sound. whoda thunk it, we thought that was supposed to be happening XD
-
one last post... Huzzah, found the problem. There were some settings based in another GPO (that had nothing to do with printing >.<) for some reason that we're conflicting. all rolled up now into one nice and clear gpo and its all working
-
I'm not sure what gp logs to use, or what they would show? For whatever reason the computers are just determined not to pick up the drivers from the server. (even though the older GPO works just fine)
-
Just came back to this one as youtube stopped working in flash for us. (only runs if flash is on the absolute latest version) It now works fine in html5 again. no changes to anything on our system. error at their end, a windows update or possibly a filtering issue i guess.
-
Thats what we have, 1 group policy with item level targeting. Its working slows logon. Trying the same, 1 policy with item level targeting but during computer startup doesn't pick up drivers. If the PC already has the drivers it works correctly, though i just noticed the set as default printer option is greyed out >.< edit: Here's the error from log viewer The computer '10.6.183.41' preference item in the 'Client: Printer Settings (testing) {50D8D3D0-2D9B-4C9A-A474-CC961B6340E5}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070bcb The specified printer driver was not found on the system and needs to be downloaded.' This error was suppressed. Isn't this supposed to pull the drivers down from the print server?
