Does it still power up and spin the disk with the blown GPU? Could you plug it into a monitor and see if anything appears. My guess is it will still come up with bitlocker as the disk had been removed and re-added. Then try entering the key. No need to feel responsible. You told them that it needed to be on domain and they said no, it's on their head. You need to make this clear if you can't get anything off of it, that if it was on domain you wouldn't of had this problem and still had the files!

Staff and Students have the relevant 365 licence attached, first time they load up word etc. they login and it's licenced for them.

Been running CTR for over 2 years on our Win 10 Surfaces, not had a single problem, if anything had less problems! Had problems with 13/16 that required updates being pushed out etc where the CTR had already had them installed.

Currently our desktop student PCs are win 8.1, office 2013. Staff are win 10 and Office CTR. This will soon (hopefully) be the standard across the site. Windows 10 with Office CTR. Makes more sense imo that it keeps it up to date constantly and doesn't require a new big install every few years.

I'm surprised you don't have chrome installed already, i thought it was a default along with Office and the like nowadays. Always useful having more than one browser on PCs. For combatability (not even spell check can help dyslexics) problems etc.

Deployed via SCCM, Kept up to date via software we use called Heimdal (it always keeps other software updates along with protecting against malware etc.) Group Policy is limited (try to have as little GP as possible for obvious reasons) simple things like stopping the remember password box pop-up Chrome does have a lot of GP config you can tie to it

Sorry to highjack this a bit! Anyone know of any good IT based series (not the horror film IT) around 30mins an episode? Atm i listen to audiobooks in the car but i think it will be good to broaden my IT knowledge a bit aswell. As much as i love Eric Idle he doesn't know much about DHCP

You didn't mention the MDM in your previous post UniFi doesn't do MDM no, it can get a cloud controller i believe but you have to pay a sub. Unsure as never used it! Brought a management key for £90 and plugged it in and away we go!

UniFi fo sho! I even run it at home, old site ran it and new one is moving over from Ruckus at xmas, Personally i can't see why you wouldnt from a price point of view alone. The only real thing you miss out on is support, but there are enough people running it to easily communicate solutions (Edugeek is a fine example) I've even noticed recently bigger providers like Ruckus and Aerohive are dropping their prices and trying to do deals to combat people going over to UniFi but it's still way more expensive!

They said it was within the regular dB which i thought was BS, well i would of thought if i could hear myself think over the noise. Got it changed in end so worked out ok.

Warranty depends a lot on whats wrong obviously, at my old place we had one which fans made a HUGE noise and they didn't accept it under warranty..... weridly the same switch stopped working a month later.... what a coincidence

Capaldi's Doctor seemed to be scared a lot, along with most nu-who, I agree with the Sonic i does come out to much IMO hopefully something they tone down on in next series. Loved the last episode one of the stronger of this series, let down slightly by the frog at the end...
