Apply have released the repair guides: https://support.apple.com/en-us/126520 Main takeaways Easy to repair, no glue just screws Keyboard is replaceable, dont have to replace top of the shell Hopefully they learn from this and move it to the Pro lineup!

Not Edu, but we have 1 site where we use the Unifi RPS to act as the second PSU

Yes, but we run the full Enterprise kit so cant comment on the above. Personally dont use the CloudKey, either spin up a server running UniFI OS or get a Dream Machine. Had a couple of CloudKeys die over the years!

We often have random lenovo issues, most tend to be fixed simply by pressing the motherboard reset button, think this is in every ThinkPad IIRK

Costs money, its not something we do a lot probably once every 2 months. Just want a server (in this case a workstation with a SFP+ PCIe Card!) i can switch on when we do the builds

Cheers all still fighting with WDS/MDT as i have got it booting now but the drivers are being a PITA, if no luck will try OSDCloud

Afternoon, We're after a quicker way to image 10+ laptops at a time, in the past jobs i've used SCCM etc, but here we have no onsite servers or onsite AD etc so SCCM is out straight away. Currently we are doing USB installs for each. Ideally i just want someone to push the Windows image out via PXE and install blank windows and we can then run the scripts as needed to onboard to Azure, i just tried WDS/MDT but was unaware that Windows 11 is blocked like this... Does anyone know the easiest way to do this?

Had similar in past, we created exam accounts with all the relevant blocks and just moved the coursework to the relevant account tied to the pupil.

I'm not wrong i just didnt explain that bit Yes they will supply you with a modern comparable model, but speaking from experience it wouldn't surprise me that the line was completly killed off. Back to the car analogy, there isnt a Ford Mondeo function-equivalent now, you'd have to get a Kuga which is a cross-over thus is not a comparable model if you need a sedan. What model of HP Switch is it?

My guess is that range of switch they don't make anymore, to explain in car terms, its like going to upgrade your Ford Mondeo, realising they dont make Mondeos anymore so you have to get another simular model that does the job

You dont have to be part of the cult to see Apple hardware blows away most in its path atm, Laptop manufactures are limited not by their design but by Intel and AMD and x86, give it a few years and im sure windows will catch up with Snapdragon or w/e The amount of people i've seen jump to macOS in the last 3 years or so is massive, myself i was hugely anti-apple for years (there was a joke in my friend group about how much i hated apple), used a mac at work and then jumped ship within 6 months, even my brother who hated Apple more than me now dailys a mac. I even know a good handful of Edugeekers who were very anti-apple have now jumped over. On the Neo front though i have these points, which i echo from MKBHD If you are looking at the CPU benchmarks, this laptop is not for you If you are thinking is 8GB RAM is enough, this laptop is not for you If you are looking into the specs in depth in general, it is not for you This is perfect for web browsing, and light office work and it stops there. If you are being snobby beacuse 'its same old apple', what do you mean by same old apple? Making the best desktops and laptops on the Market for build quality and shelve life? You cant even get them on cost now and the Mac Mini and Neos are steals. Them building their own CPUs has moved them to the top of the game. Only thing they really suck at is gaming. A lot of old-skol tech people still have bad experiences of Apple and i get that, back in the dual core intel days but give their M/A series a try and you will be surpised how fast they are (and how bad windows now is!)

Think we've found Satya Nadella's burner account

I beg to differ, MacBooks are well known for having a great shelve life, i even say someone still using a MacBook Air 2011 the other day! (Did tell them it was time to upgrade though...)

I only really play WoW which runs perfectly on my M4 MBP

Early Benchmarks for Neo are out: https://www.macrumors.com/2026/03/05/macbook-neo-first-benchmarks/ Lot faster than i thought it was going to be, better than the M1 which is still a decent CPU. Graphics isnt great but that is to be expected.

I wasnt wary of being Ryzen, brought it for one of our teams, they've had nothing but issues so went back to Intel and all fine again... Same make and model of Lenovo ThinkPads but one diffrent CPU... Ryzen one on paper looked better but the CPU was very very slugish and rubbish battery life.

As a daily Mac user at home and at work heres my mine takeaways; £600 is an absolute steal, reminder this is not a budget device but it is the cheapest ever MacBook, the Entry level Pro is over 1k more expensive! The specs are lacking a bit, would of liked it to keep magsafe, and 2x USB 3, one being USB 2 in 2026 is a bit shameful, 8GB on Mac is fine for Web browsing and light word processing The build quality looks up to Apple standard, compared with Windows devices of same price its night and day. For me it will come down to the CPU performance alone, if it out preforms i5s then it will easily be a steal Along side the Mac Mini Apple could have the best Desktop and Laptop in the under £600 budget.

Danny Dyer's Caravan Park, Honestly, wasnt expecting it but i love it so far!

Separate all sites, only madmen put them on one. Issues with having them on one; File permissions being a PITA to manage, multiple sites you can do permissions by security groups etc OneDrive syncing, you would have to sync the entire lot, where as multiple you can sync the only ones you need

People tend to buy the expensive stuff for first one, then second is all second hand. Most of our stuff was off facebook market place.

I've had 2 kids, both had the ikea high chair and they both still have all their limbs and brain cells

+1, One of my favourite things on TV currently

Depends, we use the enterprise switches and they do stack

Bruce Springsteen - Road to nowhere. (Disney+) As a big The Boss fan been waiting to watch this, and was somewhat let down. As good of a film as it is, its not what i expected, i thought it was in the same vain as other biopics, raise to fame etc. It's not, its about his Nebraska album and mental health, which is still a great story but from my point of few would of preferred the rise to fame aspect! Much prefer the 'Blinded by the light' film
