  10. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy text based on the RM Nimbus and PC paint. I don't know if it was a bug or an insecure system but you could get to other user areas through the save feature in PC Paint. copying lines of BASIC out of magazines.
  11. I would have thought the BIOS would be integrated with the motherboard on a laptop, so getting a new motherboard would also mean you are getting a new and corresponding BIOS.
  12. I did just realise after i had posted why knowing the password might be wanted. I've only ever blanked the password.
  13. Why crack the password, much easier/quicker to blank the password. That's what the popular Linux password editor does. It doesn't matter how complicated or long it is.
  14. Maybe if the drive was encrypted. Other than that restricting the BIOS to only boot to the hard drive and putting a password on would reduce the possibility.
  15. We use ceiling mounted projector cages.

  21. I've used them for years, never had any problem with their service or quality of their 2nd user laptops.
  22. They are refurbished and run XP and come with 30 days warranty. I've just had a look at Bigpockets. they have a cheaper laptop, better spec and 3 months warranty. I'm sure they have desktops to beat their price and spec as well. My mistake Windows 7.
  23. Could be a lose screw a shorted USB port or something else. Remove from the case and do a bench test with nothing plugged in apart from a stick of known working memory. I don't think RM make or get boards custom made, it should have a manufacturers name and model on somewhere.
