  1. A lot of the Virgin engineers aren't employed by Virgin, they are subcontractors.
  2. Intel. Not Crucial or OCZ, this is from experience.
  3. AF Screen-Clene or AF Foamclene http://www1.af-net.com/docs/screen.asp
  4. If i want to block everything out whilst i rebuild a laptop, it's usually breaks, Plump Djs, Freestylers or The Crystal Method.
  5. There is a version on their site that doesn't require installing.
  6. Try in the BIOS or a Linux live CD to see if it's a windows fault. Do you have another one you can swop over to try, there's a small chance it could be a motherboard fault.
  7. You are not alone. Need a 5ghz HMC wifi card for a DV6-6135DX
  8. I've been a best man twice. You need some good jokes, an embarrassing story or 2, a nice story and a good way to end. Unless you have some great photos of him in compromising positions/circumstances i'd forget the projector/powerpoint idea.
  9. HP have that part down as a 1x1 not a 2x2 HP PartSurfer
  10. Get the Intel 330 not kingston.
  11. Intel SSDs will be far more reliable than the Crucial M4 SSD. The Intel 330 is 60Gb and is about the same price if not cheaper.
  12. I have an old Epson r300, cheap as chips on ebay and a full set of 6 inks will cost you less than a fiver.
  13. You'd need to purchase a windows license. The ZOTAC zboxes http://www.ebuyer.com/256172-zotac-zbox-amd-fusion-e-350-barebone-zbox-ad02-b are slightly more expensive but the processor is more powerful and you can spec your own with an SSD instead of a hard drive. They also take up to 8Gb unlike the Atoms in the Revo
  14. What about this ? Meraki Systems Manager Looks like it might do what you want.
  15. I think this is a more direct link for the Dogbert post. Dogbert's Blog: BIOS Password Backdoors in Laptops I can confirm that the methods contained do work, i've not done a Lenovo but a few others
  16. An XP key will only activate an XP installation. Is it a home license on the sticker and you're trying to activate a Pro version ?
  17. I recommend getting some liquid flux like this NO CLEAN LIQUID FLUX PS3 YLOD XBOX RROD BGA REFLOW 50ml | eBay and one of these Aluminium Solder Sucker, Solder Vacuum Desoldering Pump, De-soldering Tool | eBay It will make the job alot easier, especially the flux as it helps with heat transfer.
  18. Replacing capacitors is cheaper than replacing motherboards, especially is money is tight. Usually about 50p a cap.
  19. Are you testing out of the case ? And i guess you've checked for leaking/bulging capacitors.
  20. I'm sure i contacted Epson when i needed a print head for my A3 printer and they pointed me in the direction of a UK supplier. It wasn't cheap (about £80 IIRC) but then printer cost about £400. Have you tried soaking yours in Isopropanol Alcohol ? Might be worth a try as it's much cheaper than a new print head.
  21. I just put Ubuntu on my Dell Mini 9. Booted from cd and I clicked a couple of things. No typing required
  22. The cat 5 monster. He or she unplugs the network cables, sometimes fully but mostly so they still look like they are connected to the socket, but they aren't quite making contact.
  23. Black polo here, with the school name and I.T. Support on
  24. We have Dell laptops for the teachers here. All of them have to have the image sent to the projector before a video is played.
  25. A diesel will also be better than a petrol due to the higher torque from the engine.
