I'm wondering how many bodies you could hide in 4ft of concrete ?!

No only 1 is required. the load bearing wall is down the middle of the house and i only replaced half of it. £400 is a fraction of the cost of my total build cost, and considering I'd be asked to rip up my wooden floor and hack off my crisp white plaster to prove its sufficiently built it is a small price to pay. I opened it up as it was an ex council house and a little pokey in the kitchen.

I needed a steel inserting and a brick support building Although it was specced up by a builder the council needed to see a report from a structural engineer. The engineer picked up the quality of the concrete base might not be up to spec, and he was right and i had to dig out and improve. The council then signed it off. It cost about £220 for the engineer and £180 for the council but that bit of paper means no one will doubt if the work is done to a quality standard and there will be no delays if/when i come to sell.

I'm trying to think of a motherboard i have seen in the past 10+ years that didn't have a battery to keep the BIOS settings and i can't think of one. If you're thinking of replacing the motherboard you'll need to strip one down first. Have look, I'll be very surprised if there isn't a battery somewhere on the motherboard.

Have you checked the voltage of the CMOS battery ?

@laserblazer. It depends on the car, some the belt snaps and there is no impact between the pistons and valves, the belt can be replaced and off you go.. Other engines, the K-series to name one will bend the valves, so possible engine rebuild before fitting a new belt.

As an ex mechanic, I'd avoid French and rovers as the headgaskets do fail. Japanese for reliability - Honda or Toyota.

I had a play with a @Tab TEN.1 I wasn't particularly impressed with it. It felt cheap and the screen wasn't particularly good IMO.

I have 30 3W Daylight GU10 white LEDs lighting my downstairs with all white walls. It doesn't feel cold just nice. When i go upstairs where i have a Warm white bulb it makes the white walls seem yellowy and grimy. Whilst the above might be too much for some. I recommend Daylight white LEDs for the kitchen. Food will look how it's supposed to look.
