You could try swopping the screen and cable with one you know works. Depending on the age/model of the Toshiba it could be gfx chip issues.

It was a bit of a long shot. You could also try removing the hard drive to see if it boots, and try an alternative power supply.

Have you checked the thermal paste ? and for the big finger of "felt" between the fan and the heatsink, It could be an overheating issue.

@glennda. The problem with some of the senders is that they flood the 2.4Ghz spectrum. Usually the cheap ones from China.

To check the alignment In windows 7, run msinfo32 by typing it into the search box on your start menu and hitting enter. click on: components => storage => disks Look for your SSD and check the partition starting offset. It needs to be divisible by 4096 (ie return a whole number when you divide by this) otherwise the alignment is not correct.

To find out if its a hardware fault boot the laptop from a linux boot disc. This will tell you if its o/s or hardware.

@mrbios using Bitlocker and the TPM there is no additional password for the user. A recovery password is stored in AD should the USB pen be lost/forgotten.

You could also try booting the laptop from a Linux CD and seeing if the hard drive will mount. I've recovered from a few that Windows couldn't access but Linux could.
