  3. I have just got a new Terrastation Pro, tried to connect to AD and found it just would not join AD. After some searching I found a mention to upgrade the firmware. I did this and got the terrastation to connect to Active Directory only to disconnect about 20 mins later I have tried this many time and the same thing happens. the firmware is now version 1.20 Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?
  4. I think I have finally sorted it out, after loads of surfing the net I finally found a reference to the same problem as I was having. Two things (I think) caused this Problem one was DFS had stopped on domain controller 2 Problem two was in sysvol I found two extra folders called "scripts_NTFRS_02208728" and "policies_NTFRS_020557a8" on DC2 and on DC1 one extra folder called "NTFRS_PreExisting_See_EventLog" I removed these directories (kept them safe just in case) and then forced replication, so far it seems that all the policy issues have gone. As for Event ID 13 thats is to do with certificate services
  5. Thanks for your insight oldav I have just been accepted (this friday) by the ACS as a Systems Manager, and I am now starting my visa application. You mention that school IT positions are relatively easy to get, where would I look to find the vacancies advertised for the schools?
  6. After spending the morning looking into this error I have I think found the problem. Edit update on looking at the above location I have 2 unknown accounts in security could someone have a look at the security of their policies folder and post it here I am wondering if it is a security issue Edit 2 I have spoke to someone at another school and compared the settings I have also removed the 2 unknown accounts and it seems like all is working fine, the afternoon will tell.
  7. Ok thanks guys I think the policy always wait for network needs to be the first thing I look at then I think I will try those MS tools that timbo mentions. But any other views are most welcome
  8. Perfect, a plugin for firefox too thanks
  9. I have just noticed that I am having a random GPO problem. It seems that sometimes the GPO is not applying allowing the user full access to the pc they are logged on to. But if they log off and log on again it can apply the GPO as it should do. I have two domain controllers one has two errors in event viewer Event ID 13 and Edvent ID 2089 (warning) On the second domain controllerI have 3 errors Event ID 1030, 1058 and 2089. I had these errors back around March time and cured them but there must be another reason for them to come back. This second DC hosts Exchange. I have thought about demoting the exchange server, but I understand that this will break exchange. Have you any ideas on why the GPOs are appling randomly

  15. Well I guess everyone is entitled to their own happyness. I think Australia will give me that, I did consider New Zealand as I have family there, Many people from overseas think the UK is the land of milk and honey maybe its down to the benifits system and NHS. Who knows all I can say is I have lived in the UK 42 odd years now and I walk down the street and its not what I want for me or my family anymore. Just hope my application doen't fail at this late stage [-X
  16. I was in Oz about 10 weeks ago in Queensland ( The Smart State ) and from what I found there were plently of vacancies in IT, but if you live further out of the city jobs will be harder to come by bit like the UK really if you live on the M4 corridor there is alot of work come down here to Cornwall and its a different matter. I think its worth for the quality of life I mean when ( and if) I get to Oz I can afford to buy a house cash, in the UK I'll a mortgage till I'm nearly 60
  17. Tell me I'm 42 so I'm cutting it close
  18. I forgot to mention before you can even think about applying you have to achieve enough points to apply these points come from various aspect about you, i.e. is English your first language, how old you are (they don't want anyone over 45 on a skills visa), even your financial status has some input. If you are serious I would suggest talking to Global Visas http://www.globalvisas.com Tel: +44 (0)20 7190 6585 these are the people I am using and they are very professional
  19. I'm going through the process at the moment I'm just waiting for my RPL to come back hopefully this week, I would suggest you have a look at the wanted skills list and use that to move forward.
  20. Congratulations the sleepless night begin;)

  22. That look very interesting thanks. As to the certificate script I have found a site that has exactly what I want although it will need some work on the looks etc does anyone know what this is?? http://www.kidbibs.com/awards/card.htm I will email the owner of the site too
  23. I have just bought a website I used to own a long time ago and I have decided to update it, I let the domain name go and lost the site for about 5 years someone else had parked the domain hoping I would pay over the odds for the name, anyway the domain went back up for sale so I bought it yesterday and I intend to redo the site as it was I will need a few scripts and I wondering if anyone can recommend some for sending txt messages creating certificates online, you know like you got for swimming 500 yards making these services pay for I will also need something like cafepress, is this still the best on the market? For those of you who have never heard of Cafeexpress they create online t-shirt shops.
  24. A friend of mine has just got nearly £600 back from the tax man using a company called refunds direct I have been in contact with them and it seems that I may be in for an £800 rebate. Its all to do with a little known child benifit that predates childrens tax credit I think there is something like a maximum of £1500 possible available. This only applies to you if you had children between April 2001 and April 2003 Give their survey a try you never know https://www.refundsdirect.co.uk/survey/
