Having to rebuild from scratch one of these, and the owner has lost all his original CD's.. Don't suppose anyone has any clues about where to find them? Website is useless (Under construction for well over a year now).. It's a Zoostorm 3382-6301 if that's any help..

Same problems with HP - warranty support was awful. They claimed there was liquid spillage on a few laptops, when all we sent them in for was a dodgy hard disk, and a non working backlight on the screen. Samsung and Acer - bad experiences with both makes as regards build quality and durability. Currently using Lenovo - great warranty support so far, and tough as old boots. Wouldn't buy anythng else currently.

I heard that this was "fixed" in Exchange 2010, so that any browser would get the same experience - anybody know if this is the case?

Entry year,Surname,first two letters of first name So, for example.. 09DoeJo (for John Doe starting Summer this year) We had a few clashes with just the initial, so I added the next letter and that seems to have done the job.

Forgot to mention, I would need duplex printing as well.... Budget.. well, not sure yet, but it's not tiny... I guess anything over £1500 is too much, and around the £500-£1000 mark is a good point to start.

I've been asked to get quotes for a Laser based colour MFP. Would need to be able to cope with runs over 1000 pages from time to time, and be able to scan in colour either to a USB or, ideally, to a network folder... What do you guys use and/or recommend?

We have a few Incarnations of Imortality (Thanatos etc) Most recently, for some redundancy and DR, I added some DC's: Atrocity Apocalypse Armageddon Annihilator Devastator Vengeance That about covers.. We get bored you see... ?

Second the Lenovo suggestion.. we have R61's and R61i's.. both been ok so far!

Same here.. exact same problem with SP3.. was driving me nuts, until I built a new machine and tested after every update. Stopped working right after SP3...

Our SIMS server is virtualised, and we take several snapshots a day. There is also a Disaster Recovery rack that is part of the VMWare farm and is capable of running all the core servers if necessary. There is a mirrored NetApp in this rack which takes our primary snapshot (for disaster purposes) at 1am every day. This covers all the requirements for us, but it wasn't exactly cheap - to be fair though, the solution was really a business continuity plan primarily.

Basically, electronic warfare.. Stops your wireless devices from connecting to any other network that might pop up, it can mark other networks as rogue, unkown, interfering etc etc, so that you have control of your own wireless airspace. It also monitors for wireless intrusions / attacks and can stop any device doing that from being a problem. It's standard Aruba stuff.

Same here. No problems at all.. two swtiches / 46 AP's and 8 Air Monitors. All running smoothly for years.

We virtualised the core bursary servers last Summer, and also Exchange and SIMS.. this year, we will be doing the same to the Citrix farm. I think it's working out very well, and of course, I don't have to worry about server hardware being difficult to replace. We have load balanced servers running the VM's (VMWare) and a DR rack which has a mirror of the VM SAN and another VMWare server (for complete failover capability). If I was asked to do this using real iron, it would be a whole lot bigger I think... ps.. I'm also Ian T. And I live in Sutton - weird huh?

We use it over wireless on 150 staff laptops - only problem was with updates, so we now run it on our Citrix farm, which works very well.

Yes. Use "find" from the right-click menu off your root domain, change the find box to "computers" and type in the name. This doesn't immediately give you the info you need, so go to the "view" menu, and "choose columns", and add "Published At" to the columns shown... this will show you where it is. bah - two replies in the time it took me to type!

Yes, thats how we run some of our cameras, and most of our Wireless AP's. The Power Injectors we bought were 3Com units at about £15 each.

I've just added a cave into my budget for next year! I do hope the Bursar sees sense and approves it!
