  1. I bet that's for navigating the "I know this - it's a UNIX system!" Jurassic Park style!
  2. Strange - working ok for me here...
  3. Running great here.. Got the Home Premium in 30 minutes, and the Ultimate in about 20...
  4. Cheers for that - found it now
  5. Just started the download from TechNet.. getting 1300KB/s, so not too shabby really.. No Ultimate version for download yet though.. pity - would have liked to have seen it all straight away!
  6. Thanks Steve - I'll pass that on.
  7. "takeing" ?
  8. Not educational, so I though here might be ok.. please move if not in the right place Friend called me last night and asked if I knew anyone who could set up a basic intranet for the place they work. It’s based at Heathrow, and if anyone is interested (they will pay!), perhaps they could contact me and I’ll pass on some details. You'll need to have done this before, obviously - it's not a home project. Thanks!
  9. I've tried that from an Office 2003 CD, and installed only the Equation Editor.. it completes ok, but does not appear anywhere in Office 2007. Is it possible to add components from different versions of Office? Not something I've ever tried before, as I just assumed it wouldn't be...
  10. Staff are complaining that the version bundled with 2007 is rubbish and want to know if they can have the previous version of Equation Editor from Office 2003... I don't believe this is possible is it?
  11. Ok.. that's REALLY scary..
  12. Ok.. If you use Web Access (browse to the IP of your virtual centre and log in to Web Access there), select the Server you want, and in the right hand pane there is an option to Generate Remote Console URL, with some options for limiting views.
  13. You know you can generate a URL for direct connection to the console for any ESX hosted server, right?
  14. I don't believe that any of the current hypervisors can do this, as the underlying hypervisor O/S needs to see the card to be able to hang virtual switches off it..
  15. Let me see... : Install and configure three new NetApps for the following bits and pieces:- Virtualise the entire Citrix farm (21 servers) - (installing three large new servers to run it all) Install Citrix Provisioning server --- Provision Citrix Server Farm --- Provision all IT Suites (excluding Language Lab), so 7 suites - so at minimum a P2V of exisiting hard disk, with tidy ups and any updates that need doing Migrate Exchange onto bigger NetApp store, to allow for Student e-mail Manage the Work at Home software rollout of Office 2007 for staff Update and install new software on 150 laptops, and arrange warranty on any they broke without telling us Manage the installation of new 20Mb connection Complete overhaul of the intranet, migrating to new version Sharepoint with ISA server for external access and migration of all data from old version into brand new framework Possibly talk a new Director of IT through the whole system Oh and, move house in the middle of all this. Sounds fun!
  16. 20Mb Sync connection @ about 16k per year
  17. For Vista. Anyone have one that I could beg/borrow? Need to put this thing back to factory spec, and I can't find the media! Thanks..
  18. So, anyone here applied?
  19. Seems it's a re-branded Mitac, and I was able to download an iso of the driver installation CD from the UK MItac website... but it still got the wireless drivers wrong! Still, found those seperately, so all done now.
  20. No. Not my bag at all really... the current guy is VERY good with people, and the role is very people facing.
  21. Yep, that would be me
  22. Position arising where I work. Strategic role, focussing on future developments, academic requirements and promoting IT throughout the school. Advert on TES here: Director of Information Technology at Hampton School - TES Connect More details on School website shortly.
  23. They can.. they just have to type it in instead. It just stops the OP's problem of them selecting everyone and spamming the whole school.
  24. Best solution, and what I have done here, is to create different Mailbox Stores for staff and students, and deny the students access to the staff address list. You can then apply rules as you see fit to the different groups.
