  3. Yeah I’ve helped a few people in school with this or it getting stuck at one point and having to do another resync and it worked fine as long as the user had done a sync before the upgrade. it think it does delete all files from the device then restores after the upgrade.

I think I would prefer to be lonely at least when your lonely nothing major is going wrong.
  5. Thanks sysman_MK The FrontFace for Netbooks & Tablets one looks good and works well, makes getting to programs easier.
  6. Hi, I recently received an RM Slate, so I Stuck windows 8 on had a play then stuck windows 7 back on joined to domain. But this has got me thinking is there any programs or GUI Replacements out there which could run over the top of windows to make navigation easier?
  7. did a search found this website CD/DVD-RW optical drive >> Laptop Parts 101 they say its a a slim ATAPI connector as sdc said
  8. Did you sysprep the image? We had to run “slmgr –rearm” I think is the command on the clients after 25 they will activate. Spent Monday afternoon to work that one out. Sounds like the unique number has been assigned before the image was taken so the server sees them all as 1 client. Because 1 client can count for more than one request. It does also take a while between 20 – 30mins for it to take effect. Also I think the server key can be used for win 7 if it’s a 2008R2 Server, I think you need the win 7 key for 2008 server
  9. Waited till mid night then got a good speed of 2.3Mb did it in 1-2 hours before then, it was timing out at 150MB downloaded at a speed of less than 125Kb.
  10. Every news report I’ve read or heard today has used this word “visionary” and yes I was thinking about it and that would be the one word I would use to describe him. To think how far apple products have come especially in the last 7 years the ipod, ipad and iphone. He will be missed
  11. Well leaving stuff to the last minute is never a good idea, however at least you tried to help the student/ daughter some places would of refused to help.
  12. Motion sensors (well certain models) can also emit on channel 6 we had to swap wireless to another channel fixed the problem for us. We bought a WiSpy Spectrum Analyser and put something in front of the sensors and the interference seemed to be a lot less.
  13. Around Peterborough they have started moving electric cables underground, because the person over the road from me wanted his meter moving and they had to dig acrossed the road to put the power underground. They refused to move it saying that it has to be under ground. Which while they were doing backed one of the lorry’s in to a concrete lamp post and smashed the bottom bit so it fell over, the council were not happy.
  14. Played for about 1-2 hours got to roughly ACT 1 Chapter 5. loving the graphics, just need to remember you can't walk up to the things with the long arms else you end up in 2 halves lol
  15. Ordered mine back in April to get access to the online beta play. Though the version I ordered has gone from GAME’s website but they have taken the money for the game now. So really hope I get it and don’t have to reorder.
  16. I had a D620 laptop do that when I plugged the vga cable in to a monitor it worked fine. But the Built-in screen looked like that.
  17. i want one
  18. I have not used the new scrolling thing before, but I quite like it. Also love the new login screen before it was getting a little dated. I have noticed a few applications crash a bit software updater and app store keep getting stuck. But that’s the price you pay when try something just released. Other than that I’m quite happy with lion
  19. Started my download off at 7:30 last night, it finished at 5:50 am this morning. Won’t be installing it on my MacBook pro yet, going to try and get it to go on my white old one first have a play and test it out.
  20. i thought it was getting replaced by Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and Unified EFI (UEFI)
  21. Was just about to ask the same question
  22. Hi, I also work at the same school as AMVC, we did 1. Swapped the port of the printer to dummy one. 2. Deleted the real port. 3. Recreating it with the printer port with the printer off to get it to generic. 4. Swapped the port back over. It did appear to work until I got to PC number 6 then I got no printers again. This seems to be a windows 7 side rather than server side.
  23. What gets me about no DVD is that 4GB will take ages on my internet it can take me 2 hours to download iPad or iPhone updates. There normally 0.5GB, so will take all day for me to get lion.
  24. I really hope you can keep a standard look as a default, looking at one screen shot I’ve seen there is a desktop square or whatever they are called. I don’t mind the new look UI, think it will be great for tablets. But from first looks I prefer the current standard look for PC’s And laptops. But will reserve my final judgement till hands on.
  25. i can't say my experience with Mesh was good, the laptop which I bought, which was high spec back in 2005. Just kept breaking (Paint came off after hardly any use, kept blue screening even after rebuilds, touch pads buttons kept snapping, fan very noisy and always on) and kept being sent back, after the warranty expired I moved to a Dell laptop. Maybe I just bought a bad one?, because I did hear good things about them.
