Ok found the registry settings imported them to windows 8 and still doesn't work. under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7

We have a touch screen computer with windows 8 pre-installed, In windows 7 when you click in a text entry box a keyboard icon appears under it to bring up the keyboard. But in windows 8 it only works in metro apps but not in the desktop. Does anyone know how to get to the options for the tablet PC Input Panel keyboard or where in the registry it stores the settings in windows 8 as the options seems to be removed in windows 8.

Vmware fusion, I tried both and in the end it came down to price £39.99 for fusion or about 50 for Parallels, for me I just wanted a basic VM software. I did look at VirtualBox which is also very good.

The windows 7 ones here are still activated and a new machine I built has activated after we rebuilt the server.
-
we just rebuilt our server with 2012, but before I did look in to this as we were running kms on 2008R2 I believe you need to put a server 2012 kms type B key in. as a windows 8 kms key would only activate clients 8 and below. and type b does servers as well as clients. I found the information about this subject very vague at times.

To remove/block a app you have to use app locker, but I think its only available on windows 8 enterprise as the dll's are missing from other versions. I think if you block a app it will be removed from the start menu. As for adding a to the From testing windows 8 only the users who installs the programs get tiles added on their start menu without having to pin them. all other users have to go to all apps and then pin it. however the settings for each users start menu if I remember correctly is stored in C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windo ws and a file called appsFolder.itemdata-ms however copying this file into others users profiles can produce very strange results. and we gave up on this method. somesome did mention it is possible by GPO but i have yet to find a way with windows 8.

Exploring Science 9 - erasing hard disk!
andy_nic replied to BatchFile's topic in Educational Software
Not on that software, but I've had it before with a bit of science software went to uninstall off my laptop as it was testing it and it deleted everything except what was running at the time. Not willing to take the chance to remove it off the server though, it can stay on there -
after you did slmgr.vbs /rearm did it bring up a message saying that it was successfully? before you restarted?
-
is this a new kms set up? never mind I see you have used the type B key on the host kms in your original post.
-
The way I image them is to clone them all the same then use slmgr.vbs - rearm on 25 machines

Download and install was quicker than lion and I downloaded on day of release. Last year it took me all night to download lion and that was 2 weeks after release. But with mountain lion it only took 2 hours and installed in less than an hour. Nothing broke after the upgrade but had upgraded a lot of programs to work with lion the year before. I have no faults with mountain lion. This is on a MacbookPro early 2011 i5 8gb Ram

Yeah it’s now a shield with an S in it now, rather than the old blue shield with 3 lines in it. Been like it for us since early June/ July. Unless they have updated it again.
-
managed to download it in 2 hours and install took about 30mins, better than last year lion download which started at 5pm and didn't finish till 7:00 am the following morning

-
sounds like the issue we are having http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/65502-printing-oddities-specified-port-unknown.html we still have not found the cause of issue. just run a script to restart spooler and then gpupdate afterwards

In my local computer shop they had a laptop with a 40 gig SIDD, I think they meant SSD.

One of dad’s work colleague who worked at a wood recycling place was leaning over a wood chipper (the industrial size ones, size of truck trailer.) when it fell out of his top pocket and got shredded. And in case you were wondering it was a Nokia 3510 so was years ago.
