  1. What do you use to rebuild your iso?
  2. Based on an iPad/iPhone: Do you know how to restart an iPad? Not turn off and on, but restart (hold power button and home button together). Do you know how to force close an app? (Double tap home button and slide app up). Check for app updates (in app store) Delete an app
  3. Any way of removing the default apps like New, Solitaire, Get Office, People etc, from the All Apps menu?
  4. Are you assigning the app via the App Catalogue? Mobile Devices > Apps > New App > Search App > Select/Add App > On the settings page, select VPP at the top and tick the box: Assign VPP Content - Assign VPP content to mobile devices with iOS 9 or later This will assign the app to the device rather than a user.
  5. This may be possible but the byod devices will still need to be supervised which can only be done by Apple Configurator or DEP: https://help.apple.com/classroom/ipad/1.0/#/cadc1b9b4f8a
  6. Apple Classroom will not work unless they have the edu profile pushed to them via an mdm. Student ipads also need to be supervised.
  7. This is some documentation from Meraki website: You need the paid version of Meraki. https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Apps_and_Software/VPP_App_Licensing_by_Device_Serial
  8. Byod wouldn't work because the student ipads need to be supervised a long with an educational configuration profile pushed out to them. More information here : https://help.apple.com/classroom/ipad/1.0/#/cadc1b9b4f8a
  9. We currently use HID cards which I believe are quite old. Our HID are currently working with Access Control, Papercut and a Cashless catering system and Wisepay. Our cashless is with a company called Cunninghams which we will defiantly move away from when we get the chance to. I've heard mifare is the way to go if you're looking into a new system.
  10. Yep, I'm getting the same message. I can't see Apple School manager as a role to assign on deploy.apple.com either.
  11. Ah, I didn't realise you automatically qualify if you're already signed up to other deployment programs.
  12. https://school.apple.com/#enrollment is now working.
  13. I think this is the case but I still don't want these folders to appear for the users. Can't find anyway of removing them for new users that sign in. Seem to be there by default.
  14. Okay, so I've been looking into this as I added a 2016 office key and got the same message. I committed the change and read this thread which got me worried. I downloaded Volume Activate Tool Management to easily see what licenses I had installed. This show that the 2016 license must have replaced the 2010 license as I could only see a 2016 key. After some research, I came across a thread where someone said you need to download https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=25095 This enabled me to re-enter our 2010 office key and now both show in the Volume Activation Management tool:
  15. Sounds like the gpo is not linked to the new OU you're moving them to.
  16. I did this today and got the same message. I committed the changes as someone told me that the KMS keys are always backwards compatible. For example, if you install a Windows 10 KMS key, it will carry on licensing Windows 7. Or so I've been told but I've not read it officially. I guess I'll find out next week if it doesn't work as our Office 2010 will stop licensing.
  17. Can you do a gpresults test to see which group policies are being applied. It sounds like the group policy is being applied to that specific Security group and not the security group(s) you then move the device into. Edit: When you say proper home, do you mean a different OU?
  18. I've got a working XML file to use for the Windows 10 start menu. My only issue now is when a new user signs in, they get the correct Start Menu but they also seem to get a Windows PowerShell folder, a Windows Ease of Access folder and a systems tool folder. Does anyone know how to stop these appearing.
  19. Nice information. I just rang them and did the same as we'll be moving to Office 2016 at some point. Do you need to do the same for Windows 10? I can't see a KMS key on the licensing site for Windows 10.
  20. Is anyone else currently experiencing signing-in issues with their Google accounts for the SIMS teacher app? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The same goes for access the SIMS teacher app admin portal so that suggests it's an issue googles end?
  21. We have salamander write back a users email address once they've been created in ad.
  22. Does the Ipad 2 support the update that's being applied in ac2? I'm wondering if it's setting to do with this. http://www.theverge.com/2016/3/25/11306044/apple-ios-9-3-update-problems
  23. I've had this kind of issue when the device is locked to an apple ID (activation lock).
  24. Same question for Apple School Manager when it's released.
  25. I've been playing with it this morning. It works surprisingly well. The classes just need to be setup in your MDM and the classroom app needs to be on the teacher ipad. Has some very nice features for controlling the classroom!
