You can setup classes and use the classroom app on 16gb devices. You just can't take advantage of the new shared ipad deployment they've introduced. https://help.apple.com/classroom/ipad/1.0/#/cadc1b9b4f8a

I don't think you'll get to use any features that come with ios9 and above. I'm sure I've read that somewhere about Meraki.
-
I don't use Meraki so I'm not sure but I guess it will be in their next update.
-
Ah yes, I will have to play around with this. I've seen demos and looks promising.

Does this work even though we can't sign up to Apple school manager yet?
-
Yes, create new config profile > Resrictions > Applications > Scroll to bottom to see: Restrict App Usage (supervised only) You can then start entering app names and it'll search the bundle ID automatically.

Thanks for the info. I installed mdt a few months ago as people suggested it's superceded wds. I've still not used it much as wds is working for us, but will look into mdt later. Looks like I needed to boot.wim file from the windows 10 iso and not just the boot.wim from the deployment tools on wds.

Imaging is fairly new for me. Been doing it for about a year with a setup that was already in place. I've created a new Windows 10 image but get an error when deploying it. I think it might be because I'm still using an old boot.wim image. Do I need to create a new up-to-date boot.wim to deploy windows 10?

With the recent updates to Casper we can now blacklist/whitelist apps so that only certain apps show on the screens. I believe someone said Meraki is due an upgrade soon which will also introduce this functionality. That way you can make it so only iBooks shows on the iPads. Ibooks are the biggest pain at the moment because they require an apple ID to redeem again so that the license can't be used again. This means you can't used device based assignments. If they worked liked apps my life would be so much easier.

It's possible to now block apps from showing on iPads using a configuration profile. You can create a whitelist/blacklist which hides/shows only the apps you choose. I did a quick test the other day using Casper:

Hmm, I like to use AC2 with our MDM when setting up shared iPads (like class sets). Have you setup a supervision identity to make it so you can share the ipad supervision between your MDM and AC2? The last time I used AC2 I got an error when installing our WIFI profile but it seemed to work so just ignored it. It might be worth plugging the iPad into the mac and looking at the AC2 ipad logs. I haven't got my mac in front of me but you can see the iPad status when plugged into AC2 which might give more information.

Computers turning themselves on and off at night? Technical issue or Ghost?

Have you checked the computers power settings in BIOS? -
You could try using windows performance toolkit to troubleshoot your login times. I've not used it myself but read similar threads like this that suggest using it.

Apps begins to load then goes back to home screen

This is currently a bug in Casper. It's to do with Automatic updates being set on iPads running IOS 9.2. It was apparently fixed in 9.2.1 but some people are still reporting it. 9.3 is out now so should be better. If you want to avoid it, turn off automatic app updates for now. See: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/discussion.html?id=18962 Also: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/discussion.html?id=17422 Uninstalling and re-installing fixes the issue. -
Google have had their classroom app out for about a year now. Apple have just released theirs with IOS 9.3 but it requires an MDM setup and configuration profile. I don't think any MDM's currently have an official release yet to support this classroom app yet. There are some in beta stages. Casper is due to release theirs on the 31st of March.

Getting the same symptons. I'm pretty sure this will be available this year some time.

Google Docs - Sharing with a group where member is suspended
RLR replied to FN-GM's topic in Cloud Services
If the user is restored they will have access to it as they are still in the group that is in the sharing permissions of that file, but will most likely need the link to the document. Unless it's in a folder which that user previously had access to. -
Just found out about Google Cloud Print + Papercut. This enables you to publish printers to the web and print from most internet connected devices such as iPads, Chromebooks, Android and more. It only took about 15 mins to setup: Google Cloud Print You can also setup Google Cloud Print without Papercut if you'd prefer.

Who are you purchasing Apple stuff from?
RLR replied to Blue_Cookeh's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
I've been told any device can be added to DEP as long as there is a trail of transactions such as receipts to use as proof. Your supplier should then be able to go to the GSX portal and add it.
