  1. Still haven't received an order confirmation of mine, anyone got any other contact details I can pester, as I am not too happy now
  2. I can echo the Parents Evening System, we did a trail run last year, only 1 parent complained, because she had to do and her son couldn't that was it, the rest were asking when are you going to do this with the rest, the SIMS link is great, the only snag we found was if the parent didnt have a first name in SIMS, easily fixed with the sync run again. Both Admin staff and teaching staff loved it, as it did the one great thing, it disposed of the paper.
  3. Has anyone been having issues, I keep on disconnecting from the server, just before I call up virgin and ask for an engineer? Just started the Cardassian Season, yes I know I am behind, but I have become a rear admiral so can't be doing that bad. If anyone wants to add me I think I am gazzamatraz@gazzamatraz (yes I know was just being lazy)
  4. Scheduled Maintenance at the Data Centre today.
  5. I can't remember exactly where it is in exams (not back in the office until Thursday, taking my first break break of summer) but I think it is in the base data, where you select a QCA code for the awards. The other one to check it that there is an exam link in course manager in SIMS .net to the overall (cashed in GCSE terms) result. Let me know how you get on, you do get these funny things with exams. Hope that helps somewhere.
  6. All working now :-)
  7. Hello All, While I am waiting for a response from capita, is anyone else having issues with InTouch this morning? Our Callback service seems to not be working, also, does anyone know the settings to put in if you have to reinstall the Routing Service? (we accidentally uninstalled it here when trying to look into the callback service, so that will need to be reinstalled) All the best :-)
  8. I have had this before if Word or Outlook is writing it's working files to a network location, which then makes hibernate unavailable, I can't remember what the guys here had to change exactly to get it working again, but it was pushed out as a registry script.

    Slow to open IE

    Enough Said :-)
  10. Near me is Thong Lane (in fact the secondary school I went to is on it), it gets it name from the fact there is a tiny hamlet at the end (of about 10 farm houses) called (you guessed it) Thong.
  11. So, I have a 15 inch HP ProBook 450GO here, nice and new ready for a VI student who starts with us in september, except 1 thing will not work, Microsoft Magnifier, I managed to set it on my test account to load at login through the ease of access centre and it loads, but if you close it, or do not load it and open it after the task bar has appeared, it just will not load, no errors, nothing in the Application Event log, it just will not load. Has anyone come accross this before, or does anyone know a good open sourc alternative from the M$ Magnifier that allows full screen zooming? Thank you in advance
  12. Hello All, I am trying to install the network install of the Boxford Design Tools, I have done the setup through their install with the registrations files etc, but whenever I go to run the Lathe or Miller programs a message comes up about a missing file \\\\\NetPath.dat Google and the Boxford website is not coming up with anything about it. Has anyone done this type of setup before? Any Help or even a stripped copy of the file would be good. Thank you all in advance
  13. I have a hammer here that may help with your issue with this laptop. I would resort to reinstalling the machine with a different name and see if it happens then.
  14. @witch, Dropping off the domain, if this is it keeps on going back to only having a local login, it is usually because they do not shut down the machine properly, or it errors, then they just leave it to boot into recovery mode and then it restores to a time before system restore was disabled on the image. We had 3 members of staff who this would always "happen" to so we made sure all system restore images have been destroyed, now we don't have the issue :-)
  15. We use LCHost .:. Fast UK Webhosting .:. Dedicated Servers .:. Colocation to which I cannot fault their service, they have done full MySQL and file restores at 11:30pm until 1am before because I have ruined a Joomla installation, but since then I have moved to wordpress for our website.
  16. That seems an awfully high cost on colour.
  17. Hello All, Just dipping my little toe into a very big and varied topic here (and maybe in the wrong forum). Over the past 3 years (We had a BSF build) we have watched our current safecom printing solutions increase, to the point where I am spending about 2000 a month on toners (but some are office printer most are curriculum). We have 7 Floorstanding A4 MFDs and one desktop A3 laser on our safecom system and I am debating whether we could save costs by going over to a managed print solution, like our photocopier is. I have gone to our photocopier suppliers (Ricoh with Kent County Supplies), and I am also seeing the people who supply our toners (Oki with Silicon Alley). Does anyone have any words of warning on this and any suggestions of who else is good to speak to. Thank You All BKGarry
  18. Any others feel like being generous? this walk covers 7 Ordinance Survey explorer maps :-)
  19. I have to rename all of our classes anyways (Nova doesn't include the band which our staff need to identify things) so I just make sure each group name is different in the Curriculum Model and then rename them all in Classes.
  20. 2 Problems, I don't have steam and I am at a party for a 2 Year old tonight, maybe another time :-)
  21. We just had a Demo of a 65" screen from VII Networks Shop I was very impressed, it comes with their own software that can be used (but it did work with active inspire) and it comes with a site license of WordWall which may be good for the SEN class. It has toughened Glass which we punched at full force, and you can even get it on a stand which can flip it to a table top. It also used the standard windows drivers, so nothing extra to install there. Also it had a freeze feature and 3 year warrantee as standard, give them an email and ask for a demo, it is worth it :-)
  22. Oh how my life will be easier :-)
  23. I have a message on my voicemail about it, I hassled the education uk team, apparently it is a 17 working day delivery from confirmation of the order, but I have not had confirmation of the order, just a standard email about making sure the form is filled out.
  24. I can confirm the iOS version is working fine on an iPad (I get the head teachers hand me downs) but I cannot test an android version until tomorrow, but I will look.
  25. Managed to setup my own page, please help me hit my target of £300 https://www.justgiving.com/Garry-Gardiner
