We have recently purchased 3 LED touch screens from VII Networks - Audio Visual They are great, use the standard windows drivers, use VGA or HDMI and comes with a good piece of software. The stands are good and the screen themselves are very touch (punched it really hard and nothing happened) they all come with 3 year warrantees. The only thing I added was some velcro to the pen and remote that came with it to stick it to the side of the board. If you contact them, they will come out and give you a demo.

Well I now have 2 new EduPets, after having to have Molly (my previous cat) who was in her late teens put to sleep I have rehomed this mother and daughter pair. Maisy - The 5 Year old (7kg) daughter who is currently on a diet Poppy - The 6 Year old Mother who is very 'Fluffy' and has a tail like a feather duster (and seems to be trying to open my fridge from above)

Hello All, I had a nice chat with the Lightspeed team at BETT this year and they was saying they had developed or are developing (can't quite remember) a link to SIMS. I was wondering if anyone out there has this yet? It is just the link I am missing to getting our KS3 and possible KS5 students using MBC (KS4 and a lot of KS5 are already using hand-in folders within fronter)

How about the Routine Focus > Lesson Monitor > Deal with unexplained absences this screen can be printed as a report, but it will show up all session and lessons for the day with an N but you can see if someone has an N for just one or 2 lessons. Hope that helps

Well technically you can call your server farm a private cloud, I used the quoted to make a point that is not strictly a public cloud, to use it from home you need to use Juniper VPN (supplied by the LEA with the broadband contract), so not strictly a full cloud service but is. Did i make sense there?

Our LEA offers "cloud based" SIMS through our Broadband connection straight to their data centre, seems to run through Remote App or something. Always kinda tempted me, but I like having my own server, and with things like InTouch and Bromcomm MCAS/TWF running on it as a service, it is still best kept in house at the moment.

Technical Logistics Leader - Job Roll Formally called SIMS and Timetable Coordinator, then SIMs and Timetable manager, then Technical Logistics Leader when I took some the old NM stuff on when the Local Authority Cancelled the BSF ICT Contract and we gained some control back through the outsourced contractor. 26k Per Annum, 52 Week a Year contract (been here 6 years so get 29 days holiday + bank holidays) Kinda stuck at the moment with where to go next, either full blown data manager and timetabler or try and go back to a proper NM route again.

@Garacesh I have it running in DOSbox on a mac, so surely you can use DOSbox to run it within Windows 7. I can find the startup and mapping script used for it (on my home MacBook Pro so will have to be this evening), but it will need adapting for windows over a self-contained mac app. :-) I was thinking the same thing about WFTO

I think I am going to go for War for the Overworld :-) Although I did start playing Dungeon Keeper on my Mac at home and stuck at the same old level as when I was a youngun. The thing is, if they had release theme hospital like this, I don't think we would of minded so much, taking a day to build say the operating theatre, but a Day to dig in DK - HELL NO!!!!!

I took apart my old Mega Drive (power adapter blew and fried the board) and used a RasPi project online to put in a hub etc and have that in there with some lovely game emulators. Just comparing the difference of the two boards is very very interesting

I love these Nano Sketch PCs, they are sooooo going to be replacing my digital signage screen PCs in the future. I'm in.
