Hi, I need to setup a way of allowing a user to update the Ad Sync between our on site AD and 365 quikcly (instead of waiting for it to update on cycle every 30 mins) We (admins) do this from Powershell currently Start-ADSyncSyncCycle-PolicyType Delta This will be a staff user who will need this. Is there a way of creating a powershell script for them to run after a password reset? Sorry my PS skills are currently lacking!

Just wondering about changing the "Who can bypass the lobby" setting in Teams for Students, currently they all go straight in to the meeting (default setting, but to allow teachers a bit more control of who they allow (and more to the point, can kick out) I was thinking of changing this so Teachers have to allow them in from the Lobby. It will be another step for the teachers to do at the start of the lesson but I think they will be onboard when I mention that this will increase their control of who`s allowed in. How does everyone else have this set? Thanks

Just wondering how close to each other can you\do you put your Unifi Access points in your school? I've spaced ours out going off the signal but due to them being so cheap and the signal strength being around 50/60% in some areas, I might need to install a few more. Thanks

We are thinking of doing the same with SMHW, one reservation I have is how do parents check what homework has been set if they no longer can do this in SMHW. I think parents like the ability to quickly login to an app an check what's been set.

I'm going to add Network management cards to our APC Smart UPS fleet, I'm aware of the APC PCNS software that manages the graceful shutdown of the servers but how do you go about monitoring these UPS`s over the network? Is it a case of login to each UPS (once network enabled) ? or can you use the Powerchute software? (last time I used Powerchute you could only monitor COM or USB attached devices) Thanks

Hi, I'm wondering if people could give me some feedback on the 1:1 scheme that we will be enteringin to soon. So SLT have suggested (and mostly decided) that they would like to go down the iPad route - I'm not totally opposed to this but being a Microsoft school with large use of Office and Team (and slowly building up use of O365) - I have a few concerns about using iPads over laptops - firstly, general use such as typing up homework and can they do all they want an iPad that they can do in school or on a Windows device. I see a lot of schools have gone down the iPad route, so I'm sure there is a lot of benefit to choosing this device, I just want to be sure we make the right choice!. Any feedback would be really helpful. Thanks

Anyone having issues with Teams? - Can't make any calls..stuck "connecting"!

We had the same happen on our first all staff meeting, it was user error. The meeting was shared in two locations and somehow staff went to both. It was the very first meeting we had and was a bit stressful for a few minutes as to understand what they had done!, as the jury was still out for staff for which to use between Teams or Zoom at the time!.

I agree V9 hasn't been great at all, since they went to a server client setup weve had lots of complaints. It still has to be one of the best software purchases I've ever made though!. Saved me so much time when I first started this job.

So, the Pupils have discovered this and chat amongst pupils is now rife! I've found the option to disable this in the policies - Just before I do - is there any way of stopping chat between pupils but allowing them to send to staff (from feedback, staff have said this is quite handy for pupils to ask questions to them) Thnaks

Yes I think they want to sit in separate rooms and talk over 2 or 3 slides each of a ppt. Not much need for the producer role I suppose other than select the presenter who's sharing their screen?

How's everyone doing this? Slt want to do a teams live event, show a ppt and have 4 slt talk over it. They want me as the producer to advance slides? I'm thinking that should be one of the presenters? Screen sharing a PowerPoint also seems a roundabout way of doing it aswell!. Thanks

Hi, We're updating our supply accounts and I was wondering how other schools distribute supply teacher login details? Currently we handout all the details for network login and registration software by paper to supply teacher when they arrivve in the morning, This seems to me that there's a security issue with these documents getting in to the wrong hands in the classroom or getting left. I'm thinking of storing what I can on email/one drive? Would be interesting to see if anyone has a better way of doing this? Thanks
