I`m looking at getting a few power sockets installed at home. Just wondering what the going rate Electricians would charge for installation of these.

Is there any way on Unifi to stop pupils taking a ip Address before they attempt to join our Guest SSID? I've setup a Guest network using a portal and voucher based authentication, only problem is the students see an open Wifi and try to join it, it then gives them a IP and when the get to the redirected portal they then give up as they don`t have a Voucher. I know on Ruckus you used to be able to stop them taking an IP address until they authenticated (or at least releasing it once they couldn't authenticate) Can you do this on Unifi?

Could someone help identify this lead for me? I've no clue how to describe the connection going in to the IWB circuit board. thanks

We have the same issue here, we thought it might be fixed in the recent release of v70. we will have to see after HT.

Im just looking into Touchscreens with a view to installing one in a teaching rooms, we use Promethean Activinspire, I know you can only use this software if you use Promethean Hardware, and if not the license is approx £500. We would probably be looking into Touchscreens that arent Promethean, has anyone come across this? and have you had to buy a separate license to use AI?

I think there`s an option in each application, no global setting.

Just wondering how people manage IOS upgrade deployment on their mobile devices? (Specifically Ipads) Currently were using Lightspeed MDM but there`s no way to stop IOS updates downloading to the device, and then pupils installing this. (There`s an option in Lightspeed to Download\Install IOS updates but not to stop them being downloaded to the device).

Ive set this in User Configuration > Policies > Admin Templates > MS Word 2016 > Word options > Advanced > File Locations > Default File location. Could someone confirm what they have in here?, ive got (Z:\) but when i go to Save as on my test logon it defaults to "This PC" (I've redirected Documents) to the z:\ so even if they save here it save in the Home folder but I could do with it defaulting to z:\ (Z:\ is their home folder) Could anyone let me know how theirs defaults to?

Is their a GPO for this?

Our Photography Students for their coursework are taking a number of pictures on their mobile phones and need to upload them to the network so they can edit them in lesson. Teacher would like the easiest way of uploading these - which is by attaching phones to PC to upload, (or send them up to our office to upload!!!) I`ve told him this isn't possible and to upload these to Onedrive via their school email account and WIFIthen collect them from OD when on a school PC. He doesn't want to do it this way and has asked for us to enable them to upload via phone cable. Connecting phone to PC will bring its own issues such as viruses etc.. What does everyone else do in this situation?

I`m interested to get some information on this to take to SLT, whats the implications on GDPR when using Dropbox (Staff) on top of the schools Cloud storage provider? (in our case O365)

We have this problem here, SLT made the decision a year ago to pay for all the SLT to have dropbox license! (I know!) So were paying for a service when we have Office 365 and Onedrive for free!. Windows 7 and Onedrive was a PITA and this was the reason why they made the move, W10 and OD seem a lot better with no sync issues at all.

We have around 10 old Ipad Gen 2`s that staff are returning as they don`t want them now, these wont upgrade to the latest IOS so are starting to gather dust in our Office, looking on trade in sites we can get around £50 each for these. Has any one done this, I think our HT will be on board if we explain the situation to her.

I`ve setup our office 365 to require a passcode on Mobile devices, this has worked for Email accounts added using the devices built in Mail app, is this supposed to work for the Outlook and OWA app as well?

Just looking for some feedback on the use of Onedrive on Windows 10, I had a big push for staff to use Onedrive in Windows 7 but we had so many issues with Syncing (I, on a daily basis received sync errors for no apparent reason) that eventually SLT decided to pay for (some) Dropbox licenses!. I`m now looking to reboot this with Windows 10 (mass roll out this summer). I've just set this up on my W10 machine to test, it looks prettier at least!

What does everyone prefer on this?, do you set a password on the Outlook App or go for require encyption on the device?

Do you work in my school? lol We have exactly the same kit as you, they work fine but ours was also put in around 2012/13 and yes, the Meru support is rather a lot for the few times we actually use it. Its a bit of a risk but we don`t use the WIFI to an advanced level so we probably don`t need a all singing all dancing setup. Im very happy so far with our test Unifi setup
