Thanks everyone for your views, invaluable as always! I have read through a number of threads regarding the role and, as mentioned, I cannot (and wont be) taking on the role as this will be a conflict of interest, on top of this I have no experience in Data protection (apart from the basics used in my role as IT manager) It seems this is a massive job and there no way I could devote the time to this and run the school network, and have a life outside of work! As title says, been asked to head this and really need some advice on whether I should accept or not.

Just going through the process right now on slimming down the fleet of printers from 50+ to MFD`s scattered around school. I've got support from SLT to do this, its going to be a painful process though!, and I envisage a few confrontations with staff who don`t like the idea of walking 10 meters to the nearest printer. Pray for me!

Hi, Just wondering how many NIC`s people use on there Vmware ESXI hosts? We currently use 2 or the 4 available on our Dell Poweredge servers, we use this for Management network redundancy but wondering if I should be making use of the other 2 on the server? and what would people use them for? Just wondering what everyone does for remote access for administrating the network? We currently have Rd web access setup for staff and i just use thst to remote in to do updates etc.. Does everyone just use the system the staff use or does anyone have a dedicated system for remoting in?

Can anyone help me with this WU error im getting on one of my Windows 2012 R2 Servers. I get the WU error 8000FFF error when trying to install the October update roll up. I`ve tried the usual workarounds all to no avail. Reboot Manual install of Update Rename "Software distribution" folder and re install All other updates before and after this update install fine, so I`m guessing its a corrupt update?!. Any other steps to get this installed would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks

DH want to print to office printer from his Macbook, no problem with Airprint, but by switching this on it enables all school ipads to see this printer and then print to it. Is there any way to password protect the printer for Airprint? We use Papercut but I cant seem to see any setting in there to enable

Hi, Were moving our Physical Sims installation to a VM next week and will be backing up using Veeam B+R Could anyone share any advice on what schedule they have when backing up their Sims DB from a VM. I will be applying the "application aware" processing to the backup. cheers
