  1. Just wondering how other schools handle email signatures. Mainly SLT here want them with school details on with the school logo alongside which we do fine on there pcs but what about keeping them the same on other devices e.g. ipads etc. Not really an issue at the moment as it works but just curious of how everyone else does them. Thanks
  2. +1 million
  3. Yes my last 2 schools. I don't want this to get into a hate battle between RM and vanilla but your answer was not helpful at all as this is staying as RM.
  4. Desktops are the way i want to go but not to sure how more senior people feel about it. Could work but still use local profile to log in?
  5. We have got CC4 Anywhere which is citrix which works fine
  6. Will look into that thanks Not sure if that is in the plans but that is what i want.
  7. Please move this if in the wrong place. Right where to start. I have started my new job at another school and they give most of there teachers a laptop (complete difference to my 2 previous schools which are all desktops). Now we are and RM cc4 school and the current method is when they are in school they seem to log into the domain and when they are at home they seem to log into there local account. Each user is a privileged user on there account (This is something i want to get rid of.) They all have access to the C drive to save work so some users have work saved on c drive and then some have it on there network drive which gets really confusing and when we need to re image machines will become a pain. What i am asking is there a better way of doing any of this as i am becoming at a bit of a loss of how we could improve all of this. In theory i want to get rid of them having access to the C drive so if that means partitioning the drive to another letter then that is fine. Can anyone recommend me a better way of doing all of this. Thanks
  8. no luck it still says it cant connect
  9. Just wondering how to do this. I have been on and off of it all day trying to get it to work. The pupils need access to this drive on the server e.g. Resources/students/subject/music On profile manager i have tried adding it as smb and then the file path but every time i log in i get the error message could not connect to network share. Any ideas.
  10. Yes made an amateur mistake and gave access to the wrong folder. Thanks for all the help
  11. Yes i get this error now Any idea
  12. Ok i followed your video and created a master image. How can i now get that to the other machines over the network? Do i have to use netinstall on the server app? Thanks Edit: Hold on think i may have worked it out
  13. Hi all Bit of background. I have just started my new job at another school and they have a mac suite. Now at my previous school we had deploystudio set up and running. Unfortunately deploystudio is way down on the list of thing i need to do as there is a complete restructure of the school building and new technology going in and wont have the chance to set it up till later on in the year. I have created the mac image on a mac mini and was wondering is it possible to drop that image onto an external hard drive and then plug that hard drive into another mac and build the machine from it.
  14. Yes ios 9 is going to make it a lot easier. However at my current school our ipad and mac solution is coming in at the end of august and we needed apple ids creating for each department in preparation for the new term. That meant around 150 apple ids being created just to cover us.
  15. SIMS is working fine on my computer.
  16. Does not surprise me as there is only so much more story they. can tell
  17. Just re watched Banshee again. Probably one of the best tv shows i have watched. Just waiting for walking dead and person of interest to start back up again now
  18. Xibo isnt an option unfortunately i tried it last year and it drove me mad as i could never get the design to how i wanted and never really seemed to do what i wanted it to do.
  19. I looked at xibo at my last place but thought it looked terrible and was a pain to get set up and working
  20. Just wondering if any of you can recommend a digital signage solution. My ideal solution would be they all feed into one computer but different content is displayed on each screen. For instance i want a screen for the entrance of the school displaying certain content but want different content for PE's screen. I have been looking at RISE Digital Signage but not sure if it is possible with there system. Anyone got any ideas. Thanks
