Forgive me if there is a thread already about this, but I have failed to find it; I would like to prevent both staff and pupils from downloading any exe from the internet. I do not however need to block all files. Is there a simple way to do this? We are using Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 OS. I would like this to apply to both IE11 and Chrome. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if there are any instructions on how to successfully setup the quotas on HAP to pull information from FSRM and how to go about configuring SQL server and HAP so that the live logins part works. Thanks in advance. J.Worth.

We had a problem with a share on our file server the other week and ended up having to temporarily re-assign and change the drive letter of our main file share. Since doing that all of the FSRM quota templates have vanished? The quotas themselves are all still there though. I've been trying to find a guide online that describes how/where FSRM stores these templates but haven't had any sucess so far. I'd guess it would be saved in a location in the Windows folder (system drive itself) as it presumably wouldn't make sense to store the templates on each drive individually so I was surprised when these vanished? Does anyone know how FSRM stores the quota template data and if there's any way we can recover these quotas?

Hi, Yes, I know I got the letters above in the wrong order. Should have been FSRM doh! I'm trying to setup a Custom task to delete files of a certain age in the folder C:\TestFolder. In this example I want all files older than 1 day to be deleted, not moved. I've created a script: C:\Temp\Del.cmd with content: del *.* /s /q File Management Task Action: Custom Executable: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe Arguments: /c C:\Temp\Del.cmd Working Directory: Directory to which the file management task applies Command Security: Local System Condition: 1 day since file was created This is working fine, however, It deletes all files regardless of condition. I'm sure this is because I have *.* in the command path. Obviously I can add arguments in the script for the condition but then you may as well just create a windows scheduled task to run this. Any ideas how I can get the script to adhere to the FRSM FMT conditions?

Hi Everyone I'm sure I'm missing somehting, but is there a way to list all disabled quoatas on a particular file server, preferably using powershell. I have two file servers replicating usings DFSR and want the quotas to be the same on both. I've managed to get the quotas to copy accross, but I can't seem to find a way of taking the disabled state accross. So i was thinking if I could list the quotas that are diabled on FS1 and use that list to disable them on FS2. ANy help would be great.

Afternoon everyone, I know there a lots of threads on here relating to this issue, and even on the internet. We have just moved all user home drives to a new file server and now all the user folders are showing as my documents rather than the username. We had a fix for this on our old file server, and that was by using the FSRM to file screen all desktop.ini files. Now the file screen policy worked a charm on the old file server, but re-creating the policy on the new file server doesn't do anything. We have set out the policy but unfortunately the folders are still showing as my documents. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Regards Harry
