How are you managing the macs you have got?

Do you have any Macs in the school at the moment?

At the end of the day we invested in infrastructure for our macs and have not really had many issues since. We got mac specialists in and looked at a variety of products. Like i said they work like a dream and are easy to manage now. When they are not set up correctly they are a pain.

Just out of curiosity how did you manage your macs?

We are not quite full mac network still have some windows pcs in the school. However they are possibly the best thing we invested in. Once you get the infrastructure right the ease of use and simplicity of the mac OS makes our job in the IT support a breeze.

CC4 works well when set up properly don't get all the negative comments about RM at times.

Right tried it on the same model of machine but with windows 7 and it picked up the drive but still would not display. Could it be faulty?

Ours did not come with DVI but came with serial.

I have downloaded the latest chip set. The hidden graphics card is shown under display adapters and the pci express port is under system devices In the bios it only give the option to disable the onboard graphics but i cant change it as it is grayed out

Just wondering if anyone had an idea of how to solve this as its driving me insane. I got a new graphics card (geforce 210 graphics card) for my work pc (hp Compaq 6200 pro small form factor) so i can use two monitors. I have plugged the graphics card in but i can never install the drivers. Under device manager it is under hidden devices but has the latest driver. The other strange thing is that the pci express root port is also hidden but i cannot get them to become unhidden and work. I have searched google but no answer seems to work. Any advice? Running windows 10 upgraded from 8.1

Should have added. When i joined plusnet fibre i was given a modem and a router. i just replaced the router as it was poor.

I have been with Plusnet for about 18 months now. Everything is fine with them but i got myself my own router as the one they supply is useless.

Basically i want to know of any simple ways of displaying Housepoints and if possible merits on our tvs around the school. Now we use PARS at the school and having spoke to them it cannot show live data but thats not a problem as i can get all the reports i need emailed to me or hopefully the people who will eventually manage the system. My question is how can we display the data in graph format an if possible make them animated instead of displaying an excel spreadsheet? My current thought is to link an excel spreadsheet to powerpoint and animate the graphs and export the powerpoint as a video each week. Only problem with this is that it is time consuming and wont really have the time. Can anyone recommend another way of doing this?

We have just re done our digital signage this month. I went with rise digital signage and split the screen into different sections. So on one side we have the breakfast and lunch menus which i update each week. Then someone else updates the lunch sittings each day On the other side we have our school twitter feed displaying recent tweets. Also have the pupils calendar displayed showing this weeks activities which are automatically pulled from a google calendar. Then on the main part of the screen we have school events pictures displaying. I get bits through from some teachers but some weeks we get nothing but then others we have loads of stuff to display.

Just measured my desk and it sits at 90 cm.

I was surprised as well but who am i to argue.

I have been told by an SLT member that i need a new chair for the office. My office desk stands quite high at around 100cm but will double check the height when i am in tomorrow. Problem is i cant seem to find any chair which tells me how high the chair actually rises up and down. Does anyone have any ideas of places to get chairs or actual chairs. Thanks

We were using profile manager but no where near a 1000 devices. We abandoned it and went for casper suite.

This happened to me with a brand new apple tv. we had three and the other 2 were a breeze through configurator until i got this one out. I spent the whole day trying to get it to work, I phoned apple support and they could not get it to work, I then took it home and still no luck. Rang the local apple store they said bring it down and they swapped it for a brand new one there and then and said it sometimes it happens with them. Ring your local apple store and see what they can do.
