We use Meraki. I just create an SSID using Meraki NAT. We have a management VLAN that the Meraki access points are part of, and that IP range is then filtered through their own WebScreen policy. At another school, Atomwide have just given me a completely separate range that I have configured on the MS250 layer 3 switch.

I'm having issues today too. Trying to activate LTSC 2019 with my VLSC MAK key and getting this error: The product key that you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one. (0xc004f050). I've just tried logging in to VLSC and I'm getting the following error when trying to click on any key request: We are unable to complete your action Error code:1001 [d611b71f-0a90-4169-97d9-a03c3fbb47ee]

I was just informed by a supplier that Capita won't be exhibiting at BETT this year. I've done a search on the BETT site and they definitely are missing from the exhibitors list: Could it be that there are more problems on the horizon following the profit warning last year? Capita usually have one of the largest presences at BETT, so for them to not be there at all next year would be rather shocking.

This is a similar situation I've got at my MAT. We have no data onsite and our MIS is Bromcom, finance is PS Financials. We still have a legacy DC, only because we have Windows PCs and we aren't gonna throw them out of the window just yet. The biggest challenge we've got currently is: Print Management (PaperCut) Door Access Control (Paxton NET 2) Visitor Management (SG World & Inventry) I can't yet see a way to get past having some sort of box (or DC) onsite without going Azure, which is far too expensive. DNS and DHCP we do through our layer 3 Meraki switch.

Maybe consider installing PDQ Deploy on your server and use this for deployment? It has a very featured filled free version which should be useful for most deployments and certainly did well for me when setting up my networks.

So, it seems that when I posted the opening article, even though Microsoft had "released" Office 2019, they clearly hadn't updated their servers, because my XML decided to download the preview edition. I just re-downloaded it using the same XML file and now it's no longer showing preview. It also now accepts my VLSC product key.

Interestingly, even though @chazzy2501's experience appears to debunk your theory, I'm trying to activate the copy using my MAK product key from VLSC and it won't accept it. Keeps saying... "Sorry, this isn't a Microsoft Office product key. You may be entering a product key from another version of Office" I'm definitely copying the one from the "Office Professional Plus 2019" section on the VLSC...

No, there is no Office setup file at all. You need to download ODT setup file and write an XML. Once you've written the XML, you download the Office 2019 installation files (.CAB) using the command: setup.exe /download yourfile.xml And then install using: setup.exe /configure yourfile.xml

It's been quite well documented that LTSB/C is a very bare bones version of Windows. Not sure why anyone would want to use Edge over Chrome. Just look at Chrome's market share, that in itself should speak volumes: Source - NetMarketShare Whilst Office 2019 isn't as simple as double clicking an MSI, once you read the documentation, it's pretty easy to write an XML and you can find several examples in this thread. (If you're feeling lazy, click here) In terms of configuration and deployment of Windows, I do it without the need for SCCM. I create an image using sysprep and deploy with WDS, built in to Windows Server. You can push out Office 2019 using PDQ Deploy (which is free!) or you can simply build it in to your Windows image before you sysprep. So long as you have a Windows Server domain, you can do pretty much everything you need with very little resources and just a bit of reading...

Still no sign of 1809 on VLSC since it was pulled. I managed to download LTSC 2019 before it was pulled and create an image. Gonna try install the cumulative update now and see how that goes.

Well, it's certainly not as easy to install as the MSI. Ironic that they call it click to run, when for enterprise it's hardly click to run! You have to download the ODT and then write an XML file to download the files, then you need to edit the XML again and point it to the downloaded files and then run the ODT again to install the application. All I want to do is install it on my test PC!
