  1. Just finished getting over two weeks of sore throat and stinking cold. I'm a fighter, though, and love my job so much I still came in to work... not that anyone appreciated that
  2. I used to have my Blog url in my signature. I went to change something in my signature, clicked Submit and was told that it wasn't allowed. Is this a new thing or some problem? It doesn't bother me, I just want to know if I can put my Blog URL in my signature like before.
  3. Anyone looking forward to this coming out? I'm a massive fan of all the Saw films so I'm thinking of a Saw marathon before I go see this just so I know where everything stands. The trailers look fab so I'm hoping I'm in for a good film.
  4. I sometimes send email out to either all the kids or all the staff. Either general notices or requests, etc. More often than not, I receive loads of replies to this message when I really didn't need one. I know there IS a way (but I just can't remember how) to prevent the recipient of your email from replying. It either hides the "Reply" button or just stops them from doing it. I'm working with Outlook 2003. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  5. I've had some great quotes from Active Visual Supplies Ltd when looking for a projector/screen solution for our Sports Hall. They seems to specialise in that sort of thing and came up with a great solution and a great price. Unfortunately, at this time of year, we don't have the money but will definitely use them when the time comes.
  6. Yeah, there is that problem, suppose. This reminds me, we should really have a sort out of all our old "never ever used" software.
  7. Although I spend all my life looking at a screen, I can only really take things in if it's a hard copy. Saves the eyes, and all that.
  8. All our software CDs are in a cupboard in our office categorized into departments. I've often wondered whether to leave responsibility for CDs to the relevant department after we have installed it.
  9. The "Quick Links" haven't been active for some time now (we obviously use the menu instead) so could this disappear to save confusion for new members?
  10. What if it's the monitor that's broke and you're waiting on a replacement?
  11. Here, no one is allowed in the IT rooms without supervision. If a teacher sends kids to one of the rooms there must be a teacher in there with a class who has "spare" computers. If there is no teacher present, the kids are sent back to their normal class.
  12. It is??? We have it running with 2003 with no problems at all. Have done for ages.
  13. I've actually found that it's a little easier to have your Powerpoint set up to loop before you save it as a show. Also, I've set up my Powerpoint page setup to be the same size as the screen so that it displays the same on my PC screen as it does on the LCD screen. Makes editing a whole lot easier.
  14. We also use A tantôt ! MFL resources for the interactive whiteboard.
  15. We use an old computer connected to an LCD screen. This computer has Powerpoint install plus Showpoint which is free Powerpoint addon. What this does is automatically check a specified directory for the latest Powerpoint show and run it. So, if you change the Powerpoint or put a new Powerpoint in that directory, Showpoint will automatically detect it and start showing it without you interrupting the display. Very very handy especially if you're running several displays with the same content.
  16. It does look useful but when I saw about uploading stuff from SIMS I knew I would get alsorts of problems with Data Protection.
  17. Hi guys, SIMS .Net seems to go really slow for users at a particular time of day. I've had a look at the resources and it doesn't seem to be doing anything too mad. The only thing I could see at that particular time is the attached event. Will it have anything to do with it? There's also one for FMS, too. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s15/pauldsharpe/error.jpg Thanks.
  18. Is it just me or is there no way to show address lists I've created in Exchange System Manager to show up in Outlook Web Access???
  19. Thanks, John. I was looking for something like that on Capita's site. It's not exactly well pointed out. As you said, though, my fault code isn't listed so I can't really follow this further until it happens again and I get more information.
  20. I gets a "Page cannot be found"
  21. I got the same thing this morning.
  22. Blocked... rubbish
  23. Changing some staff details in Personnel.
  24. Sorry, the lovely person involved click OK and got rid.
  25. Just had the following fault code on SIMS: 7854-0872-4000 Said something about deadlocking but the trusty "Search for a Solution" button tells me no solution could be found. Anyone shed any light? P.S. Am I being blind or isn't there anything on the Capita Support site where you can search for Fault Codes? If not, why not? I thought it would be a good idea.
