I use Foxmarks. A decent plugin for Firefox and works very well. Foxmarks

We had great deals from A2Z during the summer. I'd definitely recommend them so far. Although, the phone calls every couple of days asking if everything is ok is starting to get a bit much.

I've just been into Exchange System Manager on our Exchange 2003 server to find that "All Address Lists" and everything under it is no longer there. Any ideas where it might have gone? :? I've looked everywhere and its completely disappeared. No issue with me logging on as an unauthorised user because I'm logged on as Administrator. Ta.

New users can't log in to Outlook Web Access
WithoutMotive replied to WithoutMotive's topic in Windows
Apologies... ... when I said we logged in as administrator, I meant to test we logged onto the computer as administrator and then logged into OWA as the user. OWA has been disabled and enabled again to eliminate this possibility. We can try DOMAIN/username, though. Thanks. -
After creating new user accounts in Active Directory for our Year 7 intake (and also creating mailboxes / usernames for Exchange) we have discovered that the new users cannot log in to Outlook Web Access. We created the mailboxes in bulk as we have done before but when trying to log in they receive an error as if the username is incorrect. So far, the only way to fix it is to log in as administrator and get them to log into OWA after which, it works all the time for them. We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 under Windows Server 2003 and using mandatory profiles. If anyone can offer any suggestions, it would be most helpful.

Our LEA hasn't yet released it so I'm now hoping they wait until AFTER results day.

RM - Windows Live Messenger & Web Messenger
WithoutMotive replied to WithoutMotive's topic in General Chat
Cheers, TechMonkey. It was off and on all over the place about 2 weeks ago and, since then, filtering has been completely turned off. It was only today when I came in I noticed the filtering back on and stuff was blocked. Thanks again. Hope they sort it out. -
RM - Windows Live Messenger & Web Messenger
WithoutMotive replied to WithoutMotive's topic in General Chat
Enlighten me because, believe it or not, I do rely on people on there sometimes -
As from today, it looks like Windows Live Messenger and access to Web Messenger have been filtered by RM. It has always been filtered on our Curriculum network but now it seems to be across both networks. I suppose its a good idea but it does prevent me from talking to colleagues in other schools. Another useful resource of mine down the drain.

I just find it funny that something like a favicon image problem can create a 2-page topic. I didn't even notice there WAS one in the first place... hehe

We have just ghosted our Windows Server 2003 DC onto bigger hard drives. All work fine, RAID ok, etc... ... until I go to add our new Year 7 users. Active Directory just will not let me add a single user. It comes up with the message "Windows cannot create the object because the Directory Service was unable to allocate a relative identifier" I have been here: http://www.netpro.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=201 ...and here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839879/en-us and tried the suggestions but I STILL can't add any users. Any suggestions? :?

We use Impero Software and set a schedule so that internet access is automatically restricted at lunch. We have bizarre lesson / break / lunch times and using something like ISA isn't practical as you can only use on the hour / half hour times. Impero fits the bill perfectly

We use the School Bulletin feature. Previously, the bulletin was typed by a member of the office staff and a copy was printed for every member of staff. These bulletins were archived in a folder on the server. To save on paperwork, I now use the School Bulletin feature which now links to these archived documents. We do not, however, use the commandline reporter.

I've heard rumours that NOVA-P is to be phased out fairly soon. Is there any truth in this?

We made sure that the permissions in the "Copy To..." command were for Everyone
-
No worries... all is solved It was all to do with the permissions when you "Copy To..." - sorted now. Ta for all your help.

Anyone with any more suggestions?

YouTube is blocked by our LEA as is MySpace

We are swapping from roaming profiles to a mandatory profile. We've always had the redirected desktop and start menu and it has always worked. It works fine under roaming profiles but not under mandatory.
-
Yup... we started off as if it was a new user with redirected desktop and start menu then altered the various program settings accordingly.
-
We have followed, to the letter, the EduGeek Wiki for creating mandatory profiles... however... the profile works ok for the one user we used to create the profile in the first place but, for all other users, our redirected Start Menu and Desktop does not appear and they are left with an Admin desktop and Start Menu. The Desktop and Start Menu folders in the created mandatory profile are empty so we do not know where the items appearing on the Desktop and Start Menu are coming from. Any suggestions would be very useful. Thanks.

"The Helvetica font is celebrating its 50th birthday today... " So, do you have any font preferences for email, writing documents, IMs, etc.? Personally, I'm liking Trebuchet MS for everything... looks nice

I'd be very interested in something like that. I've been a "Second Lifer" since June and it's a brilliant environment for conferences, etc.
