a very interesting and surprisingly candid blog article from Ruckus regarding bold claims and marketing spiel across the WiFi market as a whole- Fact or fiction-theoretical throughput doesn't help If you'd like more information on Ruckus don't hesitate to contact your account manager or [email protected]

It does work rather well at limiting the need for additional wired points, especially for connecting printers and preventing the need to add WiFi connectivity to classroom/teacher desktops. Only thing to be aware of is that this feature is not present on the entry level 7341 access point (last number on AP model numbers indicates port numbers).

if you had someone willing to buy them from you Joe

It sounds like you need to speak us at CP ltd. Darren is currently looking after schools and colleges who are having exactly the same problems and I am amazed at how many of you there are. This can be with or without filtering as required. Give him a call on 0845 249 1779 or if you would prefer you can email him directly at [email protected] to discuss your needs. Chris

Hi Bananas, Subject to volume we might well be able to help with some demo units, i'll drop you a line to discuss further. Thanks, Mark

As Andrew_C says it really depends if you want tough or tough and cheap, We've found a couple of ranges that are tougher than your average but still cost effective enough not to frighten your bursar! I'll drop you over a line with some further details. A big issue is cable length as too short and its impractical, too long and kids will be playing F1 on chairs before it pulls them back!

ADSL Bonding Computer Products Limited are now the UK’s leaders in ADSL bonding, the technology where multiple ADSL lines can be joined to create a single link with the sum of the links – sounds confusing ?? Read on. Lots more bandwidth, faster speed and enhanced resilience – are just some of the benefits of using our service. What is Bonded ADSL? Bonded ADSL takes multiple Internet connections and creates a single connection. Our ADSL bonding technology allowing multiple ADSL lines to be bonded to create larger Internet pipes. With fail over resilience, ADSL bonding offers increased speed, reliability, flexibility and resilience. Is load balancing the same as ADSL Bonding ? The answer to this is NO, Where we combine the amount of bandwidth available throughout the ADSL lines you have, a load balancer shares the load between the lines so if you were downloading you would only be downloading at the same rate as a single ADSL line, whereas with ADSL Bonding you would be using twice the bandwidth. How do we supply the bonded ADSL service? In simple terms, we will supply all the hardware that you need, we will take you through plugging in the router, and we will fully test it and make sure you are happy before we disconnect from the router. We use a special router, that connects up to eight ADSL lines, to create a single ADSL bond, this bond is created in the router and allows you the total of the bandwidth available. For example if you had two 8Mbps / 0.8Mbps connections the we would expect your downloads to be approx. 16Mbps and uploads to be around 1.6Mbps. Using this technology we can also create ADSL bonds using ADSL 2+, so if you had two ADSL 2+ lines with 24Mbps down and 4 Mbps up we would expect the ADSL bonding to give you 48Mbps down and 8Mbps up. How does the bonded ADSL service integrate with my network? Simply you plug in our ADSL bonding router to your firewall and setup the IP address(s) that you have been issued and off you go. Where can the service be used? Almost anywhere in the UK, as long as you have BT lines, we are able to get our bonded Internet to you. Sites tend to use ADSL bonding where they need faster uploads and downloads, for applications such as VOIP. Bonded ADSL is ideal for uploading large file sizes at key sites, where many users may be accessing IT systems, or simply as a cost-effective replacement for leased lines. Can I add more lines to the bonded ADSL system? Yes, as long as you have a free port on your router, otherwise you may need to have the router replaced, as we have two different routers, a four port and eight port. What is ADSL Max Bonding? This is simply another term for the same thing, all our lines are bonded on MAX premium connections. This new, exclusive increased ADSL upload technology means that the speed of ADSL upload can be increased to support applications such as VOIP or VPNs. Are there issues with MLPPP? BT no longer supports MLPPP (or multi-link point to point protocol) due to changes at the core of its network. This has rendered many bonded ADSL and bonded SDSL solutions offered by service providers incompatible with the BT network. Full bonded ADSL support Current bonded ADSL customers enjoy a 24 X 7 Support service however due to our network operations, there are very rarely any calls. Bonded ADSL speeds are only possible due to the process of broadband bonding . In simple terms, this means combining multiple ADSL, resulting in a connection with increased reliability and speed. This single data flow, made of several unique lines, has huge bandwidth potential. The advantage of this unified data flow is that the download and upload speeds can be incredibly fast. It’s secure too: if one of the bonded lines goes down, the others will not fail automatically. Businesses can add or remove lines at their discretion, depending on their needs, thanks to bonded ADSL’s flexibility. We’ve got so much confidence in our broadband bonding. Compared to other high-speed Internet solutions, broadband bonding is relatively unobtrusive and easy to install. Bonded ADSL can be an alternative to: •Leased lines •SDSL bonding •ADSL MAX •Internet at normal speeds However, with so many factors to consider, it’s important not to forget the most important thing: speed. Astonishingly, some businesses have achieved connection speeds as high as 72Mbps, and upload speeds of between 1 and 8 Mbps. Although we bond a maximum of 8 circuits, most organisations get the desired effect with just two or three. Bonding improves the usage of : VOIP (SIP, IAX etc.) WEB Access FTP Access VPN, Site to site and Client to site Video Conferencing Email Online Backups Streaming of video / broadcasting Citrix, Terminal services Please feel free to contact us if you have any other Internet requirements if Bonded isn’t for you. We can supply FTTC, Lease Lines, ADSL 2+, SDSL, MPLS Connections. Please feel free to ask for a quote (Other words or phrases that mean the same as ADSL Bonding DSL Bonding, ADSL Bonding, Internet Bonding, broadband bonding router, combine ADSL lines)

Feel free to contact us for quotes and information regarding our leased line options. Also a post will arise soon highlighting the benefits of our Bonded ADSL offerings to Education Joe -
Watched it, liked it. Mr Mangan is pretty good in my eyes (Green wing and 'the hunt for Tony Blair' were ace, shame about the Barclaycard ads...) McDuff was played by the guy that also portrayed a young John Cleese in the excellent Holy Flying Circus. Any character that likes Brie wins with me, as does anyone that takes a knife to a piece of furniture. Joe
