  1. Completely agree - surely it is your duty to do this in order for others to avoid making the same mistakes. From what you have written it seems more than reasonable in this case. It is companies like this that give us all a bad name. Chris
  2. Hi Steve, This offer is currently running till 30th December... so still time to get your school in a Xmas present! To ask a question by way of response- How many 802.11ac client devices do you have currently on site? Or more tellingly how many client devices with 3x3:3 802.11n wireless cards do you have to the moment? 802.11ac is a great technological advance but realistically a well deployed, managed, 802.11n system will more than handle the requirements of 99.9% of sites; it's quite telling when you look at the traffic utilisation of even a large scale Ruckus deployment that the majority of clients barely scratch the surface of the systems capabilities. That's before we start getting into the time scale for a mass market client devices which support 802.11ac; As a frame of reference I just had a quick scan of the first 9 notebooks listed on a well known e-commerce site, all 9 of which are current models, and all 9 are 2.4Ghz only single band 802.11n devices- 4 years after the release of the 802.11n standard, the vast bulk of devices aren't capable of supporting or utilising even half the potential throughput. Mark
  3. Thanks for all the interest so far folks, remember the clock is ticking on this one. It's worth mentioning we currently have demo kits available should you want to see first hand what all the Ruckus is about.
  4. A lot depends on the Access Point- the 7363 for example has only single polarity on its antennas so it should be mounted horizontally i.e. on ceiling. Regarding Beamflex, ideally a clear air area of around 2m helps it achieve best performance. Mark
  5. Main things to consider are the usage: -Is it purely for charging or do you want synch functionality as well? -Is it primarily being used as a storage device or security as well? -Will it be utilised by students removing and replacing tablets? If so consider the design and ease as damaged chargers and power inputs can occur -Will it need to travel between floors at any point? -What tablets will it hold? Obviously this leads to a variety of compatibility, size and synch questions as well; some trolleys are very much specialist storage solutions for one model of tablet only, whereas others can be utilised with a mixed assortment of tablets. There are a plethora of options out there now, each with pro's and con's, the key thing is to consider the real world usage and requirement rather than the "oo shiny" features that aren't relevant or the ultra low price point- quality costs after all. Thanks, Mark

  12. Some of the numbers bounced around on this thread aren't unreasonable for a company to walk in, get everything set up (bells AND whistles), hand over a working system and walk away. Give our 365 Consultant a ring/PM and he can talk you through what parts you can do yourself, and work out which bits you would need to pay for to get up and running. 365 is straightforward to set up, but is often best viewed as a deployment project with one component deployed at a time. We can assist you in constructing this plan. Joe

    IPEXPO -

Hi all. We had a corking day at IP EXPO yesterday, numerous interesting conversations with some like-minded folk. As well as being graced with the presence of Wi-Fi Overlord Devin Akin at the stand we had with Airtight Networks (grainy snap of us all https://twitter.com/SimonLHollister/status/390950610767724544/photo/1 ) Aside from some ill fitting coffee cup lids the whole day ran without a hitch, i'd like to thank everyone that stopped by to chat (especially @neilmac , always good to meet fellow 'geekers) See you next year. Joe and the Caffeine covered Crusaders
  15. I would try both solutions as a demo with the latest AP for each and decide yourself - we may be salesman but at the end of the day it never makes sense for us to sell you equipment that you don't like or you are going to have constant issues with. After all, we have to support it. It never makes for good or repeat business if we all take that approach in my opinion. Hope it helps Chris
  16. We'd be glad to show you what AVAST can do. PM if you'd like to see some pricing Joe
  17. I certainly wouldn't pay too much attention to the prices listed on the site, drop me a PM with details of your potential requirement and I'll prepare a proposal for you. It's good to see so many reccomendations for it, we looked at Panda and Symantec before choosing to deploy Avast on our office network (and maybe my home devices too...depending on who was asking questions!) You aint seen me...right?
  18. If you'd like to save some budget, cut down on your network security admin time and improve your network security; we’ll gladly offer a suggestion. As an AVAST Authorised Reseller CP Ltd is offering all AVAST Solutions at pricing far better than Symantec and Sophos to name a few. PM us to see what we can do for you. AVAST End Point Protection Suite Plus includes some nifty tools to save you time like Email Server Protection, Firewall, Antispam, Sandbox and Remote Administration. Download your free trial copy here today. Making your trial copy permanent is easy too - simply install the licence key. avast! | Enterprise Antivirus and Computer Security Software
