  1. It's the Workstation patch I'm asking about, not Summer 2 itself. Need to know if the patch is rolled into Autumn or not.
  2. This was fixed as a patch after Summer 2 came out; however I didn't get round to installing it. Went to do it this weekend when I saw Autumn pending. I've raised a call asking if I should put it on first or just do Autumn - will report back. Peter
  3. ..by students who watch the teacher unlocking the iPad several times per lesson, either physically or by AirPlay?
  4. Yep, I use Brodit in both cars. Good quality stuff.
  5. Windows PowerShell Tip: Creating Formatted HTML Output Get-Service | Select-Object Status, Name, DisplayName | ConvertTo-HTML | Out-File C:\Scripts\Test.htm
  6. Actually... If you've got the data in powershell, there's a command to output it to HTML. I've not used it yet though! (Ive done lots of PHP and CSV processing, but I've only just entered the world of Powershell so haven't converted my old routines over) Something like write-output -format: html
  7. Do you have PHP available on your webserver? Which software is running the TV - presumably some sort of digital signage?
  8. Do you need to use the SQL for the powershell you've written? Or could CSV be used instead? It depends on the nature of the stats/data but might be easier to get in/out of CSV than SQL.
  9. Good. We do have Google, but I'd prefer at this point to link to AD than Google given that most our systems are linked to it; don't want yet another "for this, use...." However will have to read into two-factor. Peter
  10. Yeah, got announcement email yesterday but forgot about this thread; I'd decided not to post yet. Anyone know/recognise the 'Microsoft' integration icon - it says Google and 365, but what's the third? AD? Haven't watched the video yet which might be why you seem to know more than me. Need to track down TheScarfedOnes blog; I've read a few of his in the past but not subscribed. Peter
  11. Changed manually: heating clocks Changed automatically: heating clocks Now why is the heating not on??? Oh...
  12. I've just received two emails (one to me, one to the Head) that looks pretty darn good - claims to be from Adobe Billing, with the .doc invoice for signing up to 'Adobe Creative Cloud Service'. Wouldn't normally bother but it is so good, and very plausible, that I thought I'd warn anyone to look out for it. Peter
  13. Aha, thank you - been wondering about that today!
  14. Did a Mod delete a response to this thread? Could that Mod PM me if so? Peter
  15. You rang? Yeah, I find we have better meetings now with the nm to nm discussions than we do/did when it was nm versus LA. I don't know which member of support you're referring to, but one or two are no longer there - is this individual still there? I've almost considered going direct to Smoothwall for their support - we don't use LA for anything but internet now; having said that, don't expect to get much better support on patches direct from SIMS: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/143269-sims-patch-19945-can-anyone-send-me-tonight.html I've had a PM conversation with Phil following that thread - we're waiting for feedback from higher up, but in essence it is fair for us to expect patches to be pushed out just as quickly whether we're on direct or LA support, and clearly that isn't happening. Some LAs even seem to be pushing out to all their customers whilst Capita are doing them on-demand. Peter
  16. Not happy that we've not been told about this either.
  17. One certificate can cover as many subdomains as you want - but the cost goes up. I use GoDaddy and when I started with SSL about four years ago, I bought a 5-domain certificate for three years. I just used it for http://www.mydomain.org, mail.mydomain.org, and VLE.mydomain.org. I therefore had two spare domains - so three months later I could have added portal.mydomain.org without paying again. If I had only needed http://www.mydomain.org, I could have just bought a single-domain certificate. However I thought I was being very good, future-planning by having spares available. However, a few months later, I wanted to use Exchange, which needed (at the time) another 4-5 domains; so I had to purchase a 15-domain certificate that covered all the previous domains plus the new ones. I then got a refund on the unused portion of the old one (say 24 months). My 15 domain certificate expires in March and I have decided to buy a WILDCARD certificate. These are more expensive, but they cover *.mydomain.com (ie anynamesiwant.mydomain.com) - I'm already using 14 of my domains and I want another 3 already. If you want to cover website, vle and exchange, you will need at least 4 domains; exchange needs autodiscover.yourdomain.com as well as your OWA, and if you have two client access servers running OWA, you will likely want one for each. Peter
  18. Not to my knowledge. Peter
  19. Is that reply partly at me, or just at those who've mentioned LAs? I don't go through any LA or other support unit, I go straight to Capita, so the issue isn't just down to badly performing LA units? Peter
  20. We never automatically receive patches via SOLUS3 either. I find it quicker to raise an online support call requesting the patch be emailed than requesting it be released to our SOLUS. Are other folk automatically receiving patches such as these? (Db updates/releases and occasional every-single-customer ones appear, but not these that apply to pretty much everyone and quote that they are now on SOLUS) Peter
  21. Yep, I used Read-a-Card for our setup a few years agoz
  22. For 25 iPads, Meraki should be fine. For 200, I'd look elsewhere - it gets more and more sluggish the more you put on it.
  23. I think the only bug we've ever experienced here is with broadcasting a students PC to the rest of the class; it instead broadcasted to the whole school. This was fixed in the recent update. We bought Impero less than a year into a 3-year contract with NetSupport, and it's paid for itself in usability and management benefits.
