Thanks for your encouraging reply Martin. I'll just take one at a time. Cheers Mark

Cool, Thanks Dave So it is as I suspected it was going to be. Pick an app and slog it through. Then pick the next one etc Cheers Mark

Yes I thought this would raise some eyebrows. It's more about me knowing how to allow an app rather than me actually allowing it. At the moment sixth form are complaining to the head that the service is pretty useless (I know they are teenagers I've had/have four of my own) Students who visit from a nearby school for some subjects are bringing stories of a land of milk and honey and full service, unfortunately in this day and age it's daft things like this that can affect subscription numbers. When every student is worth £4k per annum, you've got to get every bum on the seat you can.

Hello smoothwallers. I'm a smooth wall newbie after using other products for longer than I like to admit. I need to keep my byod staff and 6th formers happy by getting most of those services going that they've been used to. Twitter, Instagram Snapchat, to name just a few. Has anyone had success with this? Cheers Mark

Hi All We've just started using Emergency Alert and I've noticed quite a delay (approx 60 secs) before staff receive the pop-up and email. I was wondering what sort of speeds you encounter if you're using it? Thanks Mark
-
Thanks for the answers. I Counted them up before and there are 145 clients. I'll probably start at 4:30 just in case. Cheers Mark

Hi All We've just received SOLUS 3 and all the clients that need the agent have been installed with it. We're ready to push out the SIMS Spring Upgrade to clients and I had hoped that if I start it at 5pm it would all finish by 6pm when the PCs will begin to power off. Do you think 60 minutes is long enough? Cheers Mark

[sims] SIMS Patch 19945 can anyone send to me tonight?
mark-p replied to mark-p's topic in MIS Systems
Pirran, I just looked at your latest post. From experience A patch will consist of a folder that contains a signature file, an XML and a zipped folder. You need to point dbupgrade at the folder. In your case that might be called 19996 and contain The three files. Hope this helps. -

Outlook Auto Account Wizard offers incorrect server name
mark-p replied to mark-p's topic in Enterprise Software
For future reference if anyone has the same issue. I spotted something in our proxy filtering logs while I was looking at something else. I could see the name of our exchange server exch1 being refused in the http logs. Once I allowed an exception for exch1, the wizard could find the correct server and could set the user profile up. -
Outlook Auto Account Wizard offers incorrect server name
mark-p replied to mark-p's topic in Enterprise Software
Thanks for your suggestion Nick, the result yielded is RpcClientAcessServer : EXCH1.SFX.LOCAL which should be the server offered in the wizard. Any ideas? Mark -
Hello I'm at the tail end of an email migration from Novell Groupwise to Exchange 2010. Users who have not used Outlook (2007) at a particular PC are being looked after by us pushing a group policy settings containing server names. They're email profile is created correctly. We're now trying to clear things up for some of the early migrated users. We manually intervened to get them working, but some things were left inconsistent. What I can't get to work is Auto Account Setup wizard for users who have already run outlook. The previous email client used a profile which Outlook now tries to use. When we run the Auto Account Setup Wizard we get this message. "The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." When we Click OK and the next dialog box shows the correct user name and Microsoft Exchange Server = EXMB1 EXMB1 is a mailbox server so when I change this to exch1 and click Check Name it finds the user and the Wizard will continue. It's finding an Exchange Server allbeit the wrong one. How do I make it find the correct one? I could just tell users to change exmb1 to exch1 (I've noticed they get asked twice sometimes) but it would be nice if it would work correctly without user intervention. Thanks Mark
