Yep - had this working for Papercut MF trial last month. Same Sharp OSA and card readers as PCounter, which we currently use - just with Papercut trial on one copier temporarily.

Ours just find the invigilator PC when the software is launched. It's a while since I was directly involved, but we don't do anything fancy that I recall.

With regards the None option, I spoke to Apple support yesterday about this as one of our students got herself muddled and I couldn't find any working routine that let me use None. In a nutshell, if the email address being used for the iTunes account already matches an existing Apple ID, it won't let you select None. I'm not quite sure what happens when you create the Apple ID during iPad setup because this does let you select None when you get into iTunes - presumably it is marked as a fresh account until it has been verified once somehow. Anyway, the official solution that Apple guided me through yesterday was to sign into appleid.apple.com, edit the email address on the account to a dummy address (note this account will not be used from this point forward) so that the actual address you want no longer exists in Apple world; then go to the App Store on iPad and attempt to download a free app - it will prompt you to create a NEW account using the email address you had originally - this works and creates a new account with None billing. Anyone had problems with the test client locking pre-login? My friend at another school is struggling; it sounds like some other software is running on the PC which is constantly tripping the test-violation even before login?

Myself (NM) and two techs here. The ITSupport emails come to all three of us, but I ignore them unless I know it's my remit to deal with it, or I'm only one in the (shared) office and its urgent. Help desk phone number only rings 2x techs phones, but I can dial a code to pick it up if I choose. My senior tech does a good job of managing things; he knows when he needs to bring me into a situation and when to just get on with it, so I can do my NM tasks.

I'd go Avaya. Use IPO at work, but had Panasonic at two charities I've previously been involved in - I didn't find Panasonic software user friendly and dreaded going to make changes, having to re-find where I had to be.

I presume it's part of their textiles course? I'm not proposing a new printer for them - the current one is one of say 12 localised printers around school - I want them to use the new copiers to print the tshirts.

We currently have an Inkjet in the textiles department which they probably use one a year for printing T-Shirt transfers. According to various google threads, I think I've determined it is possible to print transfers on laser printers as long as you get the right transfer sheets. Has/does anyone do this? I want to bin the printer when I replace our copier fleet this summer, but I'm (as expected) facing opposition! Peter

Sorry, just noticed why you've both replied negatively - I didn't mean "silently install them when they come out", I meant "silently install them... when the bursar emails me the link asking me to install them". Peter

Don't get me wrong, I've no intention of putting them on whenever I feel like it - but a silent install when I'm asked to install it would save me logging on and off 6 machines one by one, out of hours, thus taking the best part of an hour to install a 5 minute upgrade. Peter

Does anyone else use Sage 50 Payroll? I'd like to silently install the update files when they come out, and just wondering if anyone already does this? I know there's a .msi inside the .exe, which I'm tempted to roll out and see what happens, but any pitfalls with this? Peter

Just be aware that that will add processing overhead to your script as it performs the path test twice. I've just logged into the ZoneDirector and looked in the Monitor page (rather than Config page) of the APs, and found the attached section within each AP. This one is in our IT Office (as above) with root MAC address c4:10:8a:18:22:80 The four BSSIDs shown are c4:10:8a:__:22:8_ where the first __ is 18, 58, 98 and d8, so +40 each time, so I suspect the same logic will apply to the four BSSID's of any other AP. This would explain why I couldn't see :7a: in the results earlier. I'll have a proper look tomorrow based on this info. Peter

Because we already did that 18 months ago before we got the wireless installed, to give us an idea where to put the APs. They've been installed since Summer 2013 and we've only had a handful of queries about wifi range in certain areas, so before we go full scale BYOD with the kids later this year, we want to cover off those areas - a full site survey was supposed to happen shortly after we deployed the wireless, and indeed we bought the software and hardware for it (intending to re-do the survey every now and again) but it never actually got done. Davit2005's mention of radio MAC addresses has given me an idea to follow up - I just couldn't work out what was happening, but now I've realised it's probably per-radio within the AP, I hope to make more sense of what I'm seeing. You might be right about each radio, but it's the Access Points area I'm looking at. I haven't found anywhere that ties up any of the addresses.

Does anyone know how Ruckus wireless MAC addresses work? I'm doing a WiFi site survey which shows me the MAC address(es) of all the APs it can find, but none of the MAC addresses it gives me tie up to the MAC addresses of the APs listed in Ruckus ZoneDirector. The AP in my office is c4:10:8a:18:22:80 but InSSIDer v4 shows two WLANs beginning c4:10:8a:18:__:__ whereas it should be broadcasting about 7 WLANs; other MAC addresses have several of the other WLANs showing. Is there a way of calculating/identifying what the 'root' MAC address of a given AP is from the broadcast MAC's? Although my office ends in 80 the two broadcasts happen to be 8C and 8D, it doesn't hold true for other APs. I can see 54:3D:37:7A:4C:0D and :0C on InSSIDer but none of my AP's in ZoneDirector contain '7A' anywhere in their MAC address. I'm confused Peter

Shipping confirmation last night - Yodel! What are the chances of 4' fluorescent tubes arriving in one piece with Yodel??
