My standard w2k3 setup - server acting as simple file/printer/dns/dhcp but not a domain. Got a bit of a wierd one in my non-standard network setup I've a bunch of Win7 Start netbooks and I set one up to auto-login as pupil no password (like all my XP Home laptops). Added all the software and then just using Samsung's backup/restore to clone it to 8 other computers. Went to use them for a lesson and all worked fine except for number 7 which asks for a network password and wont accept username pupil/blank password as a valid combo I've re-imaged the machine from number 9 - number 9 works fine - number 7 still asks for password Any ideas? I've taken over a school with Viglen classlink and as you all know - I can't spell Active Duriectory /demain/restrikted user. I'm trying to get to grips with it and I thought I'd try and use the big boys and girls software deployment method e.g. msi and GPO. (For Scratch BTW) So I googled and it said - stick msi in a share, add gpo thingy to whoever I want to deploy it to and bob's your uncle next time computers boot/login - the software will be ready to use 1. Is it that simple? 2. It seemed to install fine on some computers (no shortcuts on the desktops but I was expecting that and I know (well think anyway) how to do that one - e.g it was installed into "c:\program files\Scratch" as expected. But on some machines (I think just the laptops as I'm not there till next monday again) it didn't seem to do so (but I think I applied the gpo at the top level) and when I log into one of these and look at the shortcut on the desktop - it was point off to "\\somemachine\\c$\program files\Scratch" !!! Is this the sort of thing that happens? Am I being "too simple" here? Si

Assuming you can ignore the modulus thingy at all stages and just do a final modulus then 5th stage equals a + 5b + 10c + 10d + 5e + f therefore you can ignore 10c and 10d as they will always produce 0. so answer is a + 5b + 5e + f i.e example 1 1 + 10 + 25 + 6 = 42 equiv to 2 example 2 4 +35 + 10 + 1 = 50 equiv to 0 QED (or maybe just lucky and it won't work for all cases ) Si

AFAICS This doesn't match with your description of the problem as there would be no "lone" number if pairing 1+2, 2+3, 3+4 etc You only end of with "lone" numbers if the idea is to add 1+2, 3+4, 5+6 (e.g 3,7,1) then next round you end up with 3+7,1 (e.g 0,1) Unless I've missed something? Si
