@synack I've run your script and now my install doesn't hang anymore but the printer hasn't been added as of course neither it or the server have the drivers. Can I get away with just sticking the drivers in a nice easy to find place? Si

This is for win7 starter netbooks with the user having full admin priviliges and UAC turned off. My 1st problem is that I don't know/can't see how to add Win7 drivers to the w2k3 server If I go into the share tab on the server I'm not given the option of Win7 (which doesn't surprise me as w2k3 wouldn't have heard of win 7!) The server was set to auto update but I'm doing a manual one as well in case that helps Si

I see posts about installing the drivers before installing/mapping the printers but I've no idea how to do this. I don't use domains/GPOs - the w2k3 server is just a file/print server so I'm after a simple script based approach Help! Si

Its the PSU - cross coupled it from another base unit and it worked - luckily only 2 months old so now the joys of getting FS tech support to believe that I know what I'm taking about and please just send me another PSU Si Si

Well I took HD out of it and put it in another unit and the other unit works so I think that confirms it But on the bright side - I've finally got a real hardware fault to investigate - I might even get my multi-meter out Si

Just seen this thread I'm not sure if my simple network share system would help you but I have my computers auto-login and then present them with a simple AutoIt GUI dialog box where they click on their classname and then the P: drive gets mapped to their class folder. It works with XP and Win7. Simon

More RAM has proved to reduce app disc thrashing in all previous Windows versions so more RAM is always good All my Win7 netbooks (about 20 so far) came with 1GB and work fine (as all new computers tend to do) but they can all take 2GB instead. And with memory being cheap as chips at the moment ( ) if your not strapped in the budget dept - just get a bunch of them at purchase time and do a wholesale swap. Si

I would think that the mobile version of the site could have a twitter-like page so you can easily see what's going for instance.
