I'm using the ip address http://10.xx.yy.250/~espresso/modules/index.html but I'm getting connection refused msg from the Lancs proxy server so the tab isn't obeying the direction to not use the proxy for 10.xx.yy.250 even though thats what I told it to do. It works fine if I don't enter a proxy in the wi-fi settings so I need to fiddle to see whats going on. Or does someone know what to do? Si

Well, as a personal living room device - its bloomin great Much easier to use as a phone (Facebook, twitter, browser etc) and of course I just downloaded the same free apps for DLNA video viewing as my desire and they all just worked (UPNP and Rockplayer). So just need to find some educational apps (or online content that doesn't need you to press a keyboard key at an inappropriate time when the keyboard isn't visible - unless someone knows how to force the keyboard to pop up and key presses be recognised?) Ok No 2 daughter at Northumbria halls of residence - TV signal diabolical - just about good enough to watch 6 o'clock as long as you don't mind viewing a snowstorm on anlogue (that's with an amplified aerial) - forget getting DTT So, the halls do a "freewire" tv service buts its only live tv so she can't record important tv shows (like X-Factor and Home and Away ) On the way home , i remembered about Slingbox but has anyone used one (or equivalent) or has made their own diy version. If we had that sort of device, she could control the 2nd multiroom Sky box from afar. So anydone it or something equivalent using an old machine and an av capture device? regards Simon PS - this is tres important and urgent

...I've got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 :-) (well persuaded one of my schools to buy one for evaluation ) 1st impression - lighter than an Ipad (don't know if this is actually true - just felt like it) but not actually as big as an Ipad (Due to being more of a 16:9 type form factor) It runs Education City - couldn't get it to find my LAN Espresso box so there may be issues with accessing local devices via IP (only spent 5 mins trying though) Won't get much time to play with it this weekend as taking No 2 daughter to Northumbria tomorrow but should give it a good thrashing next week. Lancs have produced some pdf resources that have more txt in a box than can be displayed and therefore have scrollbars on them when viewed on screen. Is there any way of resizing fonts to get these to print out. Si

@andyrite and zak (and sparkeh) You were right - Install Manager was the tool for the job. I ended up with and it did it Smart10 with gallery installed and activated Takes about 45 mins/computer on my 11Mbs/10-BaseT network but that's another story Ta again Si

Doesn't sound quick I found references to ISX_SERIALNUM properties in the manual which implies I can just add something to the msiexec parameters but can't see any examples of the syntax Si

I've just had to install Smart Notebook 10 on some pupil laptops and I just did a quick mod to my previous 9.7 install but I'd forgotton that Smart10 needs a licence key. Is there a quick way of adding it in afterwards (or in fact - how do I get it in via script at all without having to get into msts or anything complicated! ) Si

What you need is either a standalone RF modulator (e.g. Universal Scart To Coax Video Modulator: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics) to convert you composite signal to RF (or like me, just use an old VCR if you don't mind the bulk and still have Star Wars on VHS ) If you've got a SKY box as well, you can use a simple RF splitter as a combiner and feed your media centre output down the same cable as well. I've got 3 RF signals on my house distribution system - Living Room SKY output, playroom SKY box output (We've got SKY multiroom) and my VCR fed off my computer feeding all the bedrooms. You might need a aerial booster as well if your signal is too noisy at the end of the bable run regards Simon
