FTFY In the past, I've had staff come to me asking, 'What happened to the dog in a box? I can only see a rainbow.' Translation: The text-wrapping icon has changed. What do I need to do, now, so I that can move a picture to where I would like it in a Word document?

Having a WEEE receptacle on-site is a great idea. What type/size do you use and how often do you have it collected? Did you ask them about toner, or was it a condition they specifically pointed out to you? Either way... shh...have you tried sneaking some in?

COMPETITION TIME: Come up with a Name for John G's Homebrew Ale!

Isn't that a little personal? Either way, I'd say his kidney function is below par. EDIT: Not sure why the picture isn't showing. It does ruin the joke, somewhat. -
COMPETITION TIME: Come up with a Name for John G's Homebrew Ale!

I think @ictDirect John needs to give us a little more detail about the brew. So far, we know it's a Citra Pale Ale (Citra hops and Pale Ale malt). What is the expected ABV/flavour profile? Will there be any additional hopping? (This has nothing to do with the competition, by the way; I just want to imagine that I'm supping a pint. ) -
Sounds like he's willing to take the RISC.

Not necessarily*; we're still on 3.9.3.753, which has been pretty solid for almost 2 years until a couple of weeks ago. Since I did the power cycle, we've not had any disconnections either. *although quite possibly.
-
Power cycling* the switches brought everything back online for us last week. No problems since then. *For power cycling, read pulling the plug!

The first first Tuesday of the month that isn't a school night (for me at least) is April 7th! That's going in my diary right away! I think we need to set up some NW EduBytes events in order to prevent us from derailing this thread completely.

Good luck with the home brewing, @ict-direct John. You can bring some samples with you when you come on the Liverpool pub crawl we talked about, what 5 maybe 6 years ago? Mmmmm...Mobberley.

I'm having the same problem! APs are now disconnecting at a rate of knots (currently 6 out of 22), and both switches disconnected yesterday afternoon. I've no idea how to restart them; networks* are not my strong point. *Increasingly, IT in general is becoming not my strong point!

Liverpool, please.

COMPETITION TIME: Introducing ICTDirect_Phil!! Win a 960GB SSD!!

Welcome to Edugeek, @ICTDirect_Phil. Your post was just in time. The kids finished at 2 today and I'm having an early dart. There's a beer calling my name... -

It's funny how threads like this go quiet when schools break up. I'm sure that everyone must be getting on with all the hard work they can't do while the kids/teachers are in. Nor have we had any input from @ICTDirect_Phil. Perhaps he's lurking in the shadows... ...just a Phil-houette. -

And probably not the last! (Off topic, but related to the article.) Well they're going to have to try harder than that! This also springs to mind:

Nor me, although I have made it known that I felt uncomfortable when one kept interrupting a conversation without anyone saying anything that sounded even remotely like 'Alexa'. The other thing is, even if there isn't a specific device, the chances are that other people will have phones on them doing pretty much the same thing.

Each to their own, but would you be just as happy for BT, Virgin or your mobile provider to be listening to and recording your calls (and keeping them) 'just to check that your line is working as it should'? Personally, this is just one example of why - at least in my personal life - I try to use IT as little as possible these days.
